I have a 2001 2.5 Subaru impreza. When I tried to

Getting stuck in valet mode is so annoying, but it really IS possible to reset the Security Unit (SU). Though not mentioned how in the Owner's Manual (OM), it is possible to set Programming Mode (PM) while in valet mode, even if you have lost or replaced the remote. See the OM about switching from LOCK-ON-LOCK 10 times. It takes some practice, but the horn will beep when you are in PM, at which point you can reset your (old or new) remote. See https://pixcl.com/2005-2008-subaru-forester-stuck-in-valet-mode/ for more detailed info.

Subaru impreza 2001 engine light turns on and car

Check Engine Light turns on? You surely know, we have had those for 35 years on all vehicles, & if any dash light stays on after the motor is running, you have a vehicle problem that has to be diagnosed Have to check for OBD Codes--not keep using it Then component test the system that set the fault code, to find a problem For most people that would be at a repair shop

What fluid do I use in a manual transmission

75W90 gear oil. I've read different opinions about synthetics. I personally was having problems using synthetic in my 2002 wrx, so I switched it to a non synthetic, and the problem went away. I've read that they use Valvoline synpower in the subaru rally cars, but I personally have not tried it.

Timing belt back on 2001 impreza subaru

Look on www.chiltondiy.com or just google chilton repair manuals and I'm sure you can find the diagram. You may have to pay to see it, but it'll be there. If you have the 2.5L motor, I hope you didn't try to start the car after the belt broke. This can bend the valve guides and pretty much ruin the motor. 2.2L, no worries.

Clutch pedal travel is excessive. Sits about 2"

A clutch pedal takes MUCH more travel to function correctly, when compared to a brake system...

A clutch needs to be replaced (maybe) when it SLIPS, Chatters, Or fails to release...

Other than that, the clutch will need to be adjusted to allow for total release of the relese bearing when pedal is released, and full disengaugement when pedal is depressed....Have a mechanic look at the adjustement, as proper adjustment gives longer clutch life. This is a periodic adjustment item.

Subaru wrx impreza showing fault code p0037. how

http://helpforcars.net/obd_codes/codes.php?code=P0037

It's an O2 sensor according to the above link, and it is bank 1 sensor 2 low, the 2 meaning that it is downstream past the catalytic converter but not on the manifold.

- Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit open shorted to ground
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit fuse
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM) Possible Solution Tech Notes The code means that there is a problem with the heater element circuit of the heated oxygen sensor. Water getting inside the heated oxygen sensor connector can caused the heated oxygen sensor fuse to blow, which is a very common problem for this type codes. Before replacing the sensor, check for the condition of the heated oxygen sensor fuse and connectors.
Good luck on this repair.

2001 Subaru Impreza, Is running

Hi,

Have you ever replaced your radiator? I believe that it is giving up the ghost. This would cause the leakages you see.

Have it tested if you have never replaced it and count yourself lucky coz these cars eat up the first radiator pretty early.
