Speedometer not working on my
On my 95 jeep wrangler, the vehicle speed sensor is on the end of the transfer case. I replaced mine and it still didn\'t work. So I put new butt connectors on the wires and that was why my speedometer wasn\'t working ... so you need to be careful when crimping the wires without crimping the bells at the ends of the connectors.

Engine Misfire diagnosis can be complex
and there are many reasons for misfires to occur. I suggest you read
the article at this link that deals with engine misfires and the

Whats the symptoms of a bad cam sensor
The most obvious symptom would be a check engine light; however, since you have a vehicle with a manufacturer date before 1996, you don't have the more integrated and informative OBD2 plug. If you have a OBD1 code reader specific to Chrysler, then you may still be able to pull the trouble code. Many vehicles will not even start if the camshaft sensor is reading incorrectly, as the vehicle would be unable to properly calibrate its engine timing.

Hard starting
It sounds like the fuel pump pressure is leaking down after seeing this cause long crank times and all the symptoms you describe, and yes you will smell gas, which seems like a rich condition but isn't. Have a shop run a test called a "Fuel pressure leak down test", it takes about 30 minutes to run.

Jeep YJ skips at higher RPM's (4 cylinder)
Just for S & G's check your spark color if you would. It could be the coil is going and not able to fully saturate at higher RPM giving a weak spark. Depending on what condition your distributor is in you could be seeing some spark scatter as well if the shaft is super loose. If you are clean in first and second becomes a problem it indicates there is a problem under load which coincidently creates higher cylinder pressures which create resistance across the gap of the plug and if you have a weak coil voila ... misfire. As you have changed so many other parts it would definitely be worth looking in to. Also check your engine grounds to be sure none have come loose or broken.

No spark
If the check engine light does NOT light up on the dash, when you first turn on the ignition, then the ecu computer is in need of repair. That computer controls spark and fuel and both will not work if that ecu needs repair.

No spark from ignition module on hot start
95 JEEP WRANGLER 4 CYL
No spark. I have changed out the distributor cap, rotor, wiring from coil to cap, and coil was replaced. I checked the distibutor by turning ignition key and observing the rotor turn. What else can I check. I did not observe a module.
