Brake lights dissappeared

Try and locate the fuse that controls your brake lights. If you have no service information inside an owners manual, remove each fuse one at a time to check for any burnt out. Do not switch any fuse locations, or replace any fuse with a different amperage rating. example, if you find a 10A fuse that is burnt, replace it with a 10A fuse only. If you cannot find any burned fuses, you should probly replace your brake switch underneat your dash. Your brake pedal will hit the switch, so you shouldn't have any problems finding it. It will be small and black

Sounds like your float height is incorrect in the carb. Hopefully it is a new carb, and not a used one you bought off of someone. Used carbs are not a good idea unless you have the knowledge to rebuild one.

My instrument panel lights are not working but I cannot figure out where the fuse is on the fuse box. This is a 1989 wrangler

Go online and download an owners manual for the Jeep. It will give you the location of the fuse associated with your dash lights. Or you could start pulling fuses and looking for the one that is blown.

1989 jeep wrangler 2.5 f.i. sometimes it starts

if the 6 volts is not steady it can be the earthing, or a bad connection on the relay. if the relay is getting hot then replace this as this can be a problem when the relay is warn. clean all the earthing points and wires. this will improve the the electric flow. also if you don't have one fit a ***** strip wire from the body shell to the engine, this can improve alternator voltage, meaning better charge to the battery.

Just changed the 2.5L engine

Have you checked the firing order to make sure the plug wires are in correct order. Sometimes an engine will run but rough if 2 wires are mixed but it could be that there's more than 2 mixed up.

'89 Jeep Wrangler. Why won't it go into 3rd and 4th gear?

It is possible that the shift linkage has become loose and shifted but it is more likely that an intermediate gear or another component inside the transmission has become broken. This may require a transmission rebuild to correct. Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/dave_fb2c45146b845cea

Where do u hook up to Diagnostic

you dont the French Renix system (EFI) has not, its a SLICK EFI. (smart as a brick) google REnix EFI and see. Slick as in No smarts. its just a raw EFI controller, inputs and outputs unless you want to buy a used jeep drb scanner that does this, $$$$$ and rare.
