which engine, Nat.? 2.5L or 4.0L? in the XJ/MJ pickup. 1986 is the first, AMC EFI, used, in Jeeps. this is the RENIX system (French, EFI injection) sorry, no ASD then, not until 1991 .with real Chrysler EFI. the ECU powers the fuel pump relay directly. if the ECU has power, it will energize this relay, does it? 4.0L here.86-88 (same is true up to 1991)the ASD was introduced on the 1991 Wrangler but only 4Lthe XJ/MJ same year but to both engines, 2.5 and 4Lboth have ASD in 1991, The MJ Comanche Pickup is a XJ cut down at the rear. and has same unibody base.The engine book for XJ/MJ are the same blue book.

Those are different unrelated circuits. The dash lights are from the Head/park light switch. Make sure the dimmer rheostat is not turned way down-you know, how you turn the knob for brighter or dimmer interior. If the bulbs are good on the backside of the cluster, it may be the switch. The brake light switch is on the brake pedal. If no power to the switch, check the stop light fuse. I believe it may be same fuse as the hazard lights.

Maybe check to see if there is a cv boot it's located by the wheels on both sides if they're wet then u need to get replaced

Faulty Brake Pedal Switch - Brake Pedal Switch harness is open or shorted - Brake Pedal Switch circuit poor electrical connection this will also set the PARK lock out feature do you want do driver a car with no brake lamps(look) if the lamps work the then the switch may have 2 sides some do. and the 2nd side is bad to the park lock. i think most newer cars dont have PARK lock bypass feature read you operators guide , and what to do if it locks, it will say. the NEW USA laws made the bypass Illegal. 2007? IIRC.? nice work , scanning first. real nice. for sure the brake switch is not sending brake held logic true. see FSM for tests on some cars this year, the switch must be calibrated after the swap. the FSM covers that. or alldata.com

I am thinking that the coolant froze in the block and now you have major problems in the engine . Have a compression test done to check for head gasket and cracks

Check fuel pump for operation. Check for blocked fuel filter. Check for problem of tank not venting and creating a vacuum that will not let the fuel to be pumped to the carby.. Check that the needle and seat in the carby is not jammed closed or the small filter at the inlet is not blocked
