It will slip when trying to take off. Almost like its in neutral and then someone throws it in gear with the gas pedal pressed down. If empty it might just act like its in neutral in any gear.

Why is it hard to push on the brakes

The most obvious cause for a hard pedal is simply not enough vacuum. Check the brake power booster by pumping on the brake pedal while the car isn't running. Continue pumping until you've "bled off" the vacuum from the booster. Hold the pedal down while you start the car. The pedal should go down a bit more beneath your foot. If it doesn't, then you should examine the connection between the vacuum hose of the brake power and the engine's vacuum. Replace the brake power booster if the connection's fine, which would fix the hard brake pedal problem. It may be your calipers need replaced. Check them for signs of wear. Look at the metal spring where the brake pads sit. Apply tension to the pad and see whether you hear a pop. If you do, the brake pad is moving too much on the bracket. Replace the caliper. This could help the hard brake pedal.

1996 isuzu rodeo when hitting the brakes the running lites coms on

possibally a short and the most common area to cop a hard life is if it has a trailer plug check the condition of the wires and that they are secured properly . if ever thing is ok there check the rear tail light bulbs for defects as well. but your lookin for a short in the system so if you have altered any thing in the electrical system a quick check over that as well. rear earthing to tail lights should be checked as well

How do we check the transmission fluid in our Isuzu Rodeo?

Best time to check your transmission fluid is....let it sit over night so it has time to cool down. In the morning start it up...Let it run for about 6 or 7....To warm up transmission fluid temp. your transmission fluid temp should be about 100 to 125. you have to craw under your rodeo to your transmission plug...not your drain plug.....Take your plug out, If fluid drips, More then likely you don't need fluid....but use your fluid tube to add a little in...If it start to run back out, Your fluid level is good.

My 2000 isuzu rodeo only drives on winter mode should i rebuild the transmission

Hello Joe. please say what works and does not.? and on what road surface you are on, pavement, dirt, ice? what? and what does winter mode mean. tell actual shift modes. and what transmission options you have. no do not rebuild anything, first is diagnosis. never guess. or go broke fast,
  • 130-hp, 2.2-liter I-4 (regular gas)
  • 205-hp, 3.2-liter V-6 (regular gas)
  • Transmissions:
  • 5-speed manual w/OD
  • 4-speed automatic w/OD
4x2 4x4 limited slip diff option? Mode select transmission? option 4x4 this is part time 4wd and is not AWD , all wheel drive. as such it is not for dry (ice-less) pavement and is for offroad. so what surface are you driving on. 1st. then in what mode. are you messing up and using 4x4 on dry pavement see here for what happens doing it wrong. http://www.rubicon-trail.com/4WD101/driveline-bind.html if you wind it up. the gear shift can lock up. the solution is 2 ways. drive to dirt shoulder and move slow and shift back to 2WD. or if can't do that. (no grass , ice, no dirt) jack up a front tire. and do same. this unwinds the system. then shift to 2wd. some rare cars have partime system with a hidding slip clutch that prevents wind up. this car dont. nor does car have an AWD center differential. good luck.
