hello Gary so the easter egg hunts. we get them endlessly here. why not say what fails. ? first. then ask ? so we can be on the same page.? first off is car 2wd or 4wd???? and is it M/T box question or A/T box. (auto or stick) its not "micro switch", at all , just a switch. let me guess. 1: PRNDL switch and reverse bad, or? park lock out fails. or? 2: 4wd switch. ? 3: or the stick shift, reverse switch, why must I have to guess, whats wrong. park lock fail (shifter jammed) cant crank reverse lamps dead/

Well, as you said, Isuzu engineers are not the brightest. We are in the process of trying to figure out how the oil got full of water! If anyone has experience in the 3.2 V6 2000 model and where the likely failed spot for the cooling system is, I'm all ears.
To your problem, the thermostat housing is located under the intake manifold, yes under it. You will have to remove the intake and fuel injection system (lots of fun) to get at the hard pipe lines under and in the front of the engine. Once there removal and replacement of the thermostat is easy.

The thermostat is located at the end of the top radiator hose on engine.

Is it setting any fault code in the Powertrain computer?

it has latch there, so it dont fall off most connectors on all cars are locked there is a plastic lever there that needs to be depressed do not force connectors on cars. many are impossible to find and buy,

code p 1870 refers to AT---component slipping===causes mechanical fault this could be a band or clutch problem and could possibly be a matter of adjustment , fluid change or filter clean I would take it to an accredited auto transmission specialist( only-no local mechanic ), have them do a proper diagnosis and quote and ask will a fluid change and adjustment when the pan is off fix the problem if could be a band piston seal failure or low oil pressure from a failing pressure regulator cannot suggest repair costs until you know exactly is wrong and that will be determined when the pan is off and the internals can be inspected

we cant guess your drive line, not now or ever. so why ask. us? my guess you mean the car drives in 1st gear but will not upshift, and flares, in a false neutral. wont and want is speed wrong 2 times, why? Is car with TOD? torque on demand option, we cant see the dash board, we be like blind. check fluild levels yet, get the box serviced last decade, (a full flush and filter,) sure no. check fuses, maybe car has TCM that cant up shift due to fuse blown. and last did you scan it, if not why not that be 3rd step after levels, fuses, then scan. if the TCM cant see sensors, it cant upshift, TCM is the tranny brain.

a fuse is a circuit breaker if the fuse for the power windows is ok the the problem is else where -- could be a relay that is faulty

with a screwdriver and a hammer. pound until it submits

If your cable is broken, not easy, so I assume you are pulling release and it is not opening hood, which is typical reason for not being able to open hood. You will need to identify where break is first, and this is the tough part, sometimes it is simply a stretched cable which happens before it snaps completely. You may have to trace cable to hood latch, you may have to cut cable to access inside wire and then use vise grips to release and then replace whole cable. FREE-PPV.com

Start by getting the bolt in place and set it in place. Wiggle the bolt up and form while pushing slightly. Once in place the bolt should slide right in place.

You have to remove all the lights and columns that hold it up. Dome light, window moldings. clothing hooks, visers....etc. It will be glued on but if you are gentle then you can get it to peel off. usually not much glue. Just there to help. Once you free it you will have to recline the seats to manipulate it out. Once it is out you have to be careful removing the old fabric so you do as little damage as possible. You are going to break some of the edges but you can hot glue those back on. Stretch on the new fabric and replace. The best to use for adhering the new fabric is a couple of cans of spray on glue.

3.5liter v6, 4 cams. is my guess hot and cold engine,this? doing that ,causes (removed MAF) cause the ECU to go to limphome ,mode (read rich) and yes can hide real problems. (if was too lean) i guess you have no real scan tool? to see if all sensors work right,? if the engine runs super lean, due to huge vacuum leaks this happens. so will a dead maf. i can name lots more. but id need to do tests with real tools guessing is expensive, why more than cost of good scan tool. there can be no air leaks at all from the head intake valves all the way to the MAF if yes, it goes lean,due to allowing unmetered air into the engine.

remove trim to access it. and spin motor end by hand>?
