1999 isuzu trooper works fine until it heats up
Replace the coolant temperature sensor. This part determines the operating temperature of the vehicle, which the computer uses to determine the correct amount of fuel to the injectors. When the sensor goes bad the computer thinks the engine is cold all the time, so it sends too much fuel into the firing chambers, basically causing it to flood. This will cause the vehicle to run fine when the engine is cold, but once warmed to operating temperature it will stutter and lurch while driving, and even die at stoplights sometimes. I'm 99% sure this is your problem, although it could be a bad oxygen sensor.Although these parts aren't necessarily maintenance items, they do fail at some point, as the engine gets more miles on it. The parts are relatively inexpensive, in the $20-$30 range, so you're not out anything by just replacing them.
How to know if starter is good
Hi John,It is really hard to say without having the vehicle here to check the starter circuits. There are several things that can cause this including a malfunction in your vehicle immobilizer circuits (Your security system might "think" that the vehicle is being tampered with or stolen). One thing you might try is to try and eliminate the neutral safety switch by first, making sure that the shifter is all the way in PARK when you try to start it. If you are sure that it is all the way in PARK and it does nothing, try placing the shifer in NEUTRAL and see if it will start. If it does not start in PARK, but starts in NEUTRAL, replace your transmissin range sensor (AKA neutral safety switch). Also make sure that your battery connections are clean and tight on BOTH ends. You can also get a helper to work the ignition switch while you check for power on the small BLACK/WHITE wire at the starter solenoid. If there is voltage there, then your problem is the starter. If there is no voltage there, some serious diagnosis needs to happen.Other than this, I would recommend scanning your computer network to see if it is a aecurity system malfunction.

My 1999 Isuzu trooper blinked Check Engine
Hi Tony:When the Check Engine Light is flashing ON it means that the computer has
detected a misfire in the engine. It is not good to drive a vehicle that
has a flashing check engine light; one or more sensor in your vehicle is
advise about an code fault. I suggest scanning for know what code is in
there and solve it.
In some vehicles, a red check-engine light means the car
needs absolute immediate attention while a yellow check-engine light
means you need to make an appointment soon. The light is used to indicate PCM (Powertrain Control Module) problems
that are associated with your vehicle's emissions system.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate
your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about
this answer.Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.
Hood release not working on
If you have a long flat screw driver you can go through the front grill and press the hood down and move the latch to the right and the hood will open.
My FOB got wet is
The FOB has got an immobiliser circuit built in. It looks like some water has got in.
It may not work but what I'd try is this. Open the FOB, take out the battery (Small silver disk) put the FOB somewhere warm to dry out thoroughly. (At least 24 hours) Now I'd go and get a new battery while this is going on. Once dry, re-assemble with the new battery.
After trying this, I'd be going to a professional or contacting Isusu for help myself.
