It could be the fuse for the fuel pump or the fuel filter.

have you replaced the timing belt /chain in the required distance probably broken

so , it seems the engine does start in gear, with clutch depressed. or cranks , brakes off, and car does not move. with clutch depressed, if yes, then the clutch is not 100% seized. we now know the trans is in neutral (could be siezed check its Gear lub levels?) I can not decode, stuck in gear. elaborate that. nor " "still stuck" the only clue here, is "stalls when clutch is let out." this last statement makes me presume you depressed the clutch then turn the key to start, it started and when you let the clutch out, the engine stalls does it do that rear wheels (2wd mode) ? lift driving wheels off the ground.... (these proves engine not weak) yes, transmission is sized. no, then it is stuck in gear.

old post, i over shot.there are lots of checks.you will be told lots of things, 6billion people all with thoughts..pops to where, air cleaner or to tail pipe end????????to the Air cleaner means bad timing (cam or spark) or far worse....try the real way.fuses first.compression over 150psi on all cyl. W.O.T.CEL lamp in cluster glow keyon.connect scan tool, does it show errors, key on?>now crank of 5 seconds, does the scan tool tell you the CKP or CMP are bad? if not , then its not. (get DTC for ignitor?)Ok i check spark to all cylinders with my timing light.but #1 is first and must flash near 0 , if not the cam did slip. 5min work.ok spark good on all cylinders, is it , doing a real spark test, with a real test spark plug, bla bla bha, 100 years same...ok spark is good, car runs nice on test fuel, does it? for 3seconds, vereoommmmm stall, and sounds nice, no pops?ill stop here as fuel failure is 10 more tests. not typing them now..... ask.

(USA answers all) 1: lost 12vdc power to the EFI and spark systems. 2: bad engine, low compression , or never changed the cam belt. 3: bad spark, not doing a full tunup in a decade. top cause world wide. 4: EFI system OVER or under fueling for any of 20+ reasons... scan it yet? 5: other causes, making engine useless. EGR stuck open, or CAT melted closed. each path as a simple tests. wanna gue$$ or TEST? your call......

Likely its a exhaust mount issue its 20 years old pipes can rattle under load . The other thing is it could be a sign that the cataylitic is haveing problems they tend to rattle before they clog sometimes inspect the exhaust system

its on the blower casing off all cars. because its air cooled. if not air cooled it burns up. (on newer cars, its not there and uses modulated transistor to control speed, in the advanced climate controls options, but no this car, its Gram bell simple. a wire wound ni-crhome resistor. my guess is you cant find blower? it will run on high if resistor is blown, once found , see the connector on blower housing the one with max pins is the resistor block.

1500 is a little high. If this is an automatic then the idle should be about 700 in neutral and up to 700 in drive. With the ac on it should not be over 1000. You should check the idle air speed motor.

first off check that your fuel pump is sending fuel to injection system. Usually there a release valve on the fuel rail somewhere. check it for fuel pressure.

If you don't have access to a lift or a 'pit', then jack stands are your best option.

Engine is out of time. Sounds like maybe the timing belt has jumped time. Is it poping at the intake manifold then the exhaust?? Ifyesthen I stick with my answer. Hard to give you more of a answer without more information. If the cam sensor is not working that could be a reason and the same goes with the timiing belt for the cam gets its timing thanks to the timingbelt.
