Honda element leaked water and black rubber tube
its broken, get it fix or DIY replace it
on car this old, over 10 years, i replace all hoses
no hose lasts that life of the engine.
to me its 10 years. life, and to the trash the all go.
why risk a burned up engine over $100 set of hose. not me.
its like cheap insurance.
Wont shift into park
park lock out failure? some cars have park lock out defeat leveror insert key here, point, to release it.never seen one fail to go to park from drive.but no 2 cars are same in this regard, all use different mechanisms and and cables.or the parking pawl is bent.cause by going to park moving.or are you down hill or on uphill parked to curb?the parking pawl (in tranny) may be hard to engage, if you fail to move car just a tad forward or reverse.all cars with A/T have 2 features, the parking lock in the tranny.this is a lock up device.and key on, off, brake on and off, park shifter lock out.you must fist find out what is failing here.the shifter or the trannyif you have the operators guide, it tells you the console park lock out defeat, on every car i have ever seen.
Hazard lights came on by themselves and wouldnt
sounds like you have a short to power that where 2 hot wires are bare and touching each other I would just check the wiring over really well its helpful to use the wiring diagrams in the book
Starter
Well the starter won't cause the rough running or stalling problems.You would need to know if the starter has full battery power when it will not crank without being jumped off another battery.It could be that the battery voltage drops low enough to affect the computer memory, and after the engine starts the computer has to re-learn the settings.
