How do you replace wiper swich in a 2005 mercury
most wiper switches are part of the multifunction switch plate which is mounted under the steering wheel on the top of the steering column. so that needs to be pulled off to get at it. this is complicated in that special tools are needed and training to not damage the air bag. a car that new it will probably behoove you to pay someone who knows what they are doing. this is most likely a dealer only Ford part.
Wiper only works on high
It has to be the wiper motor ....first make sure the wires that plug into the connector that plugs into the switch are not loose and have a good tight connection...I know that while moving the connector around when installing a new switch wires can become loose or slightly pulled out of the connector....it only takes one wire to pull loose ...but the wiper motor will cause the same problem....CALL DEALER TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO RECALLS OR TECH SERVICE BULLITENS ON WIPER MOTORS FOR YOUR VIN #...sometimes this will happen and everyone isnt notified
How does one change the spark plugs? Is the spark
Yes the spark plug are under the rubber boots on the spark plug wire. Pull the boots off carefully and undo the plugs with a spark plug socket they turn anticlockwise to come out and reverse to go back in.
Where is my tcc solenoid
The solenoid is typically located inside the valve body of the transmission. Replacing this part is generally outside the scope of the home mechanic.
Lights come on but as
It sounds like you need a new headlight relay. You should have a powerbox under the hood full of relays. The newer models should have labels under the lid to explain which relay goes where. You can get the Relay in the aftermarket and usually the autoparts man will have a picture of where to install the part. I use Autozone and Oreillys as they will sometimes let a person look at the repair manuals in their store.
My head lights just went
The lighting control module is the likely culprit. It's located under the dash just to the left of the ashtray on the driver's side. 3-7mm screws and two plastic tabs hold it in (two plugs). It controls the headlights (which are also independently fused #23 & 24), turn signals, interior dome light... Have the turn signals been flashing erratically or the dome light not dimming or coming on? They are also signs of a bad module. I hope I've helped. If so please rate my assistance. Thank you and Happy Holidays.
My low beams don't work only high beam
check the fuses or relay. some cars have a fuse for low and high beam. I have a 2000 malibu, and it has left and right headlight fuses. if you cannot get it fixed. call an auto parts store. they should be able to tell you the reason. auto zone should know!!
