What does the

Do you have a switch (usually a push button) on or near your shifter labeled "Power" or "Performance"? Some cars have a button that can turn on a different shift program for the transmission, usually holding gears longer and firming up shifts. Once you locate this button press it again and the light should turn off.

Car overheats. Thermostat and water pump replaced.

Does the cooling fan operate when the engine is warm?
Assuming that it does, the fault may be with the cooling temperature sensor.

Something else to check......make sure the head gasket is ok by doing a compression check on all cylinders. A quicker check of this would be to make sure there is no sign of engine coolant in the oil. (Look at the dipstick....it should not have a milkshake color to it). There was a technical service bulletin in 2004 on problems with leaking cylinder head gaskets.

I went to clean the intake with carb. cleaner and

you have sleeved the pistons, there is supposed to be viscous materials in some engine setups and that destroys them, hence the lack of guarantee on the engine cleaner. get another oil change it should be fine as long as all the thinner material in that cleaner gets drained out.

Power freakout

Sounds like the battery won't pass a battery test, but if it does your explaining dirty battery cable connections clean and or replace as needed as this is the number one reason for a no start . This corrected and known good battery and it still acts up follow the negitive cabe from the battery and disconnect it and clean and reconnect it everywhere it goes. Don't look at it do it. It can look good and be bad. Still bad? the positive cable right at the battery is the root of all evil and you may want too fix it first as soon as the neg cable is removed. Follow the wire and clean everything.

Subaru forester 1999. After heavy

If you can hear the wiper motor now, that means it was over worked and it partially burned up the motor. There's also a good chance that the wiper linkage has been bent due to the motor trying to push the weight of the snow. I would definitely take it to a shop and have them look at it. I'm just worried about that one bad down pour of rain that would come down while your driving then all of a sudden your wiper motor gives out right in the middle of traffic. I hope this info helps.
