My 99 Subaru Forester did not start. It turns over

I also have a -99 Forester S turbo with the same problem. Runs like clockwork between failiures but all of a sudden engine turns but will not start. The workshop recomended fuelfilter replacement but I thaught it could have something to do with the immobilizer. what have you tried and ruled out?

Car will not start light and raadio comes on but

Check your battery would be the first place to start. Takes very little power to run the radio or lights but takes a lot to start the vehicle. Check battery connections to make sure they are tight or not corroded.

I was told that at 90,ooo miles mu 99 forester

It sounds like they are doing a timing belt, water pump, engine check, spark plugs , the works. I hope. I would find out exactly what they are proposing and then think about it, there are other shops that do this stuff. I know my bike is supposed to go in once a year for this service and it is $600 min each time they do it. I've only had it done once. 2002 Ducati S4

Perfect Idle, no Codes, but stepping on gas causes hesitation

i would try cleaning mass air sensor, its mounted in air duct between air filter and throttle body, they sell the cleaner at auto parts stores, also as stated bofore make sure the intake pipe clamps are tight and it's not cracked, if that doen't fix it i would investigate a fuel pressure problem either a weak pump or problem with regulator

Starts, runs fine. Eng light on. pulled code

I don't have the info with me as I am home, but to the best of my memory, Subaru uses a pressure sensor (MAP sensor) to measure egr operation. It is located on the right strut tower. I'm not sure but it may only be the manual transmission models that have one. However, if your vehicle does have one, the problem is NOT with the sensor but in the filter located in the vacuum line between the manifold and the solenoid (for the sensor). I have seen several of these that are only somewhat restricted yet it diminishes the signal to the PCM enough to cause a code to set.

I have just replaced my 99Forester Ignition Coil

If you wait a few weeks it should go off on its own.

You could try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes being aware first to note if you have a radio that needs a code. Be sure you have any info for memory stuff before you unhook. This method does'nt work with all cars.

Or you could go you your local mechanic and ask him to shut it off for you. Or an Auto parts store will most of the time

Turns over but will not

first thing is to see if it has fuel preasure and spark, pull a wire of a sparkplug stick screw driver in wire boot place near a ground (metal surface) and have someone crank engine, see if it sparks then check fuel, may have to remove line to filter, stick in a container trun engine over see if a good flow of gas comes out, this way you can pin point it to spark or fuel, start there first, hope this helps.
