I am replacing the bulbs in my instument panel, is
try the owners manuel if you have it. but the dash can be a tough job so take pictures and get baggies and mark and seperate the bolts or screws you pull out. (and dont be tempted to run the speed o back, thats against the law.) Once you get the panel off it should be a simple intergrated circuit and self explanitary from there.

Hi, I am a owner of second hand Subaru Forester S
hi yes it is a good idea to replace the oils sooner as it doesnt take much for them to get dirty in subarus, so the sooner you replace the oils the longer the diffs, trans and motors are going to last we usually recomment to customers to do the oils as following, turbo engines around 10,000km, trans and diff oils around 50,000km

Last week I purchased a MY99 White GT down in
Usually if it were the immobilizer you should have the light on the dashboard stay on when you turn the key to start the car. If it stays on when at the position before the start or during starting then the immobilizer that has caused the error. The part related to the head unit that is connected to the immobilizer is the antenna. You may have to review the wiring that has been done to the head unit. The antenna wiring may have affected it.
To be sure inspect the fuses. The fuse for the fuel pump, EFI and the radio. This is to rule out fuses as an issue which may have happened which just coincided with the starting problems. You may also go as far as testing the pump by directly connecting it to the battery to rule out pump issues.

I have a subaru forrester
- When is the last time you gave your vehicle a tune up? Sounds to me like you have a fouled plug or two or a misfire somewhere. I would do the whole bit, plugs, wires the whole nine yards. A bad plug can make a vehicle **** at a stop light almost as if the brakes won't hold in sometimes extreme cases. A bad distributor cap can cause this just as easily because if a terminal for a certain cylinder is dirty or corroded then it will not send a spark and this will cause a misfire as well as backfires. If it has been some time I highly recommend a full tune up.
- You may want to have a look at the fuel filter and air filter as well. If either are clogged then issues in firing can occur as well.
Regards,
Tony

Car won't start
yet another subaru with a starting problem, i would start by making sure you have fuel to the motor by removing the filter hose in engine bay and turning the key on ignition then off very quickly (not when motor is hot) if fuel is there i would then try cleaning the cam and crank sensors, if they are dirty it will kill spark. If there isnt fuel it means ur fuel pump may need replaced, hope this helps.

I know where the sensor 2 is but where is the bank
For 1999 Subaru Truck Forester AWD 2.5L MFI 4cyl the Oxygen Sensor is located under hood, center, rear engine area, mounted on catalytic converter.
Fig. Oxygen sensor location-Forester 1998-2002 2.5L SOHC engine (click over image for zoom).
Generally, Bank 1 is front and Bank 2 is rear.
Hope helps.

My 99 Subaru forester L
The voltage regulator is inside the alternator, on the brushes support. You must have only approx. 14 Volts output voltage! This is the root cause of the problem. You need to repair & replace the alternator.

Smell gas on drivers drivers side of Subaru
you need to google this issue, and do a search for subaru gas odor on youtube. it is a common subaru under hood fuel line problem and there is a simple fix. you need the pictures however to understand the issue and the repair. there are more than a few sites out there with pictures.

Engine seem to flood also smokes a lot
If the exhaust has a raw fuel smell I would start by running some fuel injector cleaner through the gas tank. Put in a whole bottle when down to 1/4 tank and run it a while then fill the tank and add another bottle. Also it can't hurt to change the air filter if you haven't done this for a while. If it doesn't clear up after that have a diagnostic done at autozone or any auto parts chain store that will do this for you for free.
