I got a problem my brakes are getting stuck i

Most likely, the caliper is stuck on its support pins and fails to slide on these anymore. (The amount of sliding moton, when the brakes are appplied, is very small.) When the caliper is frozen" on the pins, one brake pad wears much more than the other, and puts undue side thrust the rust on the rotor. This is a common problem in the "rust belt" where road salt is present (and yes, it can happen over just one winter season). If everything else about the caliper assembly is ok, the fix is to install new pins, bushings, pin seals, and brake pads. Also, lub the pin parts with appropriate grease at assembly.

My 1994 Subaru Legacy Touring (Turbo) Wagon is not

Hi,
The 1st>>2nd shift on the Subaru 4EAT automatic transmission can be more abrupt, but 3500 is too high.
Is there any delay when shifting from Park to Drive?
Does the Power light flash on startup? If it does, you can pull the codes by following these instructions.

This trans has 'bands' that can be adjusted. I'm not 100% sure they affect the 1st>2nd gear shift, but maybe they need adjusted.

Take a look @ ultimatesubaru.org/forum and http://bbs.legacycentral.org. 2 sites dedicated to Subarus.

Good luck,
Td

Still having a very hard start (1994 legacy)

Your car is OBD I. If you take your car to an autozone or similar auto parts store they will read your codes for free. You can buy a code reader if you wish but you will have to get the plug for a subaru also. They can be found on ebay. The code should be cleared once the engine check light is off.

Have a 1994 legacy.engine light come on. very

Hi,
The check engine light coming on tells you something went wrong with a system that runs your engine. A parts store will preform a scan of your
computer to identify the problem area. So you need to access the codes involved in turning on the check engine to proceed with the necessary repairs.

Replaced coolant temp sensor, would not fire

to many things have been done=wasting money.test the spark by remouving the plug wire put a1/4" bolt in the end of the wire hold it with an insulated pliers near the engine metal and have someone turn the keyas though starting.if you have a good stoung cracking spark ok.irf not the computer may not be activaitng the coils.+cam crank sensor no good. the cam sensor has been a big problem.probably find further info at the library.or have it towed to a sop.there are a lot of more complicated issues involved with a no start that need to be tested before throwing more parts at it.

CAR RUNS AND IDLES ROUGH, SOME BACKFIRING TYPE

Sounds like a charging problem. When your battery runs low there is not enough current to operate the sensors properly. When you charged the battery it thought the system was fine till it gets low again. I would have your alternator checked and battery. Good luck and have a great day.

Changing radiator on automatic subaru legacy twin

Hi:
The two lines that you are wondering about are oil cooler lines for your transmission. One is a pressure line from the transmission, the other is the return. Usually only a small amount of transmission fluid is lost during a radiator change, but all you need to do is to check for leaks on the line connections, and if they are good, then check your transmission fluid level after you are finished and top off if needed.

Engine starts &runs but has a horrible

If the grinding sound happens only at start-up, then it is because your starter is not installed correctly. It grinds against the teeth on the fly wheel if not lined up perfect. It is not hard to line up....but it is under the car. After that, just a couple of bolts. Make sure the battery is disconnected so you don't get shocked.
If is grind when running, then it could still be the starter, but it could be stuck, and will not disengauge.
Good Luck!

Can i tow 94 subaru legacy awd with a tow dolly

Not true. If you have the fuse in place to disconnect the rear wheels it is safe to tow on a dolly. Subaru recommends not more than 40 MPH and only for short distance if it is an automatic. Manual may be towed longer distance. Have a great day.
