2004 Mercury Marauder Questions & Answers
2004 mercury marauder. Y wont the fuel pump kick on???
Could be that the Inertia switch has cut it off. Check Websites with the term "2004 mercury marauder inertia switch" then add location to the search if the first search only generates parts.
This is a safety device and is a part which cn be in different locations depending on the year.
In addition to the Inertia switch, a fuel pump relay or a crankshaft sensor can do the same thing.
Battery fully charged
Please let us know what problem you are concerned about. Your post just shows battery fully charged; which is not a bad thing. This site often cuts and sends incomplete problems which can not be retrieved and corrected.
I'm having a cooling system problem I clean out
it could be several things. check your clutch fan and make sure it spins freely, also check water pump by checking coolant movement. the other thing that can cause overheating is a bad head gasket.
Blower motor not working
If you have an owners manual look for the fuse for the blower. If the fuse is good then its 1 of 2 things. The blower motor or the climate control blower switch.
The Digital Climate controls use a switch controller which is under the hood and behind the engine. On my 2002 Mercury, the switch was behind the heater line from the intake manifold. The outside of the switch has 2 screws and 1 electric plug and is sticking out of the ductwork by the firewall. The part is about the size of a cigarette package with most of it hidden.
You may be able to get the 2 screws and electric harness off without removing the heater hose, but before I could get mine to clear the ductwork I had to pull off the heater hose from the manifold. You CAN check the new part as soon as you get the electric connector off the old part WITHOUT removing the old part, hose or screws. Just plug in the NEW and turn on the ignition with the blower ON and the fan should work.
If that fails its the blower motor.
My steering wheel controls quit working. On
While I do not have a wiring diagram, that wire may provide power to a computer that controls all of the steering wheel controls. So, it's possible. Not sure of how probably.
I'd probably try to temporarily jury-rig the connection, test the controls to determine if you have a bigger problem, then sadly, look at replacing the entire harness or at least splice a new connector into the wiring. Not sure what level of parts Ford will sell you.
Also, may want to check the fuses (suspect if you traced wires, you already did this) in case a blown fuse is causing the loss of multiple systems.
