How to install ignition switch in 2000 jeep

You need the special Torx Driver with a center divet to remove the steering wheel cover and the switch itself from the column and put the new one in place. You don't need to remove the steering wheel at all.

I start my 4.0 jeep

When most parts stores check a starter they only check the motor itself. sounds like the bendix drive is failing (it's essentially a one way sprague) . When it fails the motor itself spins but the drive won't turn the engine. Most parts stores can order one for you but it's generally cheaper to get a used one from a scrapyard. Other option is a rebuilt unit.

I have a 1999 Grand Cherokee with just over

It sounds alot like the 'oil pressure switch' as Mopar calls it. The sending unit on the 4.0L is pretty easy, the 4.7L is a little harder but can be done fairly easy if you have your tools ready.

I added an extra mechanical gauge to check the factory gauge readings, but it has not done it since. I have noticed also that the factory gauge is sometimes very innacurate compared to the aftermarket gauge that I installed.

Just last week while sitting in traffic the factory gauge was reading 40 psi and the aftermarket gauge was reading 20 psi, so what I can see is that the factory sending unit must be defective.

Same thing happened to me ended up being the sensor. Only use oem mopar sensor the napa and advanced sensors were **** and didn't work right.

Keep us updated.
