Where is the location of camshaft sensor 1998
if its diesel 4JX1 its in top cam belt cover cant miss it, sensor is very clearly visible.
if its petrol V6 (6VD1 or 6VE1) its in left head at rear behind inlet manifold
these pictures are for petrol V6, Jackaroo(Trooper) and Holden Rodeo are the same.
Gas pedal sticking
spray wd40 on both ends of the throttle cable-at the peddle and at the throttle body-penetarting oil displaces water which may be causing the freeze-up- cheers Denny

My Isuzu bighorn 1998 4JX1 engine has starting
NEED A LITTLE TUNE UP, REPLACE SPARK PLUGS, REPLACE FUEL FILTER,REPLACE AIR FILTER, CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS POUR CAN OF SEAFOAM TO 3/4 TO FULL TANK OF GAS. THAT WILL CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS, REASON CAR HARD TO START WHEN ENGINE COLD YOU HAVE LEAN FUEL MIXTURE. YOU NEED RICH FUEL MIXTURE IF FUEL FILTER STOPPED UP AND FUEL INJECTORS STOPPED UP THAT WILL CAUSE FUEL MIXTURE TO BE TOO LEAN.

Sounds like one of two problems, it is not easy to diagnose a problem if you are not standing in front of the engine.
1. You might have a diesel pump issue, when it's cold there is enough pressure until it's warm then pressure drops as it expands. follow the fuel line to see if you have any leaks when it is warm or have the pump tested for pressure. sometimes you might also have a backfire noise due to fuel shortage but his might be very seldom or soft miss fire.
2. also check sensors for co and if you have a newer model, crank or cam sensor. they tend to stop working if they are warm, and if left for a while they start working again till it's warm again.

What is wrong when it's cold and my 1998 Trooper powers down with the ABS light, the battery light, and the four wheel drive light blinking
that is called a STALL.
the engine was running , but now its STALLED.
and all lamps come on that is a Feature of all cars. (modern)
the that is the lamp self test. same as when you first turn on the key.
the operators guide explains all that...........
so the real question is why it stalls.
it means the engine is running so bad the EFI brain could not avoid the stall, it tries REAL HARD not to stall.
we do tests to find true cause. but usually its this.
1: engine never tuned up. the 60,000mile service POINTS skipped.
hark it fails. (99% of all old cars do that, due to skips)
2: LOST spark , see #1
3: lost fueling, see #1 filters. or worse.
4: flooding, over fueling. more tests.

You have no injection pump ,each injector does that job .
You have a faulty rail oil pressure sensor I think ,read my tips to test this sensor .
How do I fit sidesteps to a 1996 isuzu bighorn please?
If you have the bracket's. Flat plate with two holes to the inside chassis. the other part that holds the sidestep to outside. two long bolts top and bottom to secure. The bolts on the side step itself slide on tracks so move them to line up with the brackets tighten all bolts job done.

1998 isuzu trooper vibration problem under load
I would next check the condition of the engine, transmission and transfer case mounts. The mounts all have rubber inserts in them to absorb vibration and if the rubber starts to deteriorate or drycrack it can cause a vibration, especially under load.
