Why wont my 98 honda civic start all of a sudden when its been running perfect since i bought it? Its acting like the battery is dead but wouldnt it start to give me signs that its starting to go out?

If you hear a clicking sound but the engine is not turned over by the starter then you have a defective starter mounted starter solenoid, the internal contact that supply the starter motor are eroded from arching. If that is not the case then check all battery connections and have the battery tested, modern batteries seldom give any warning when they fail, one minute cranked over fine next nothing.

Why wont my back window go up only down on my 98 honda civic

It could be a problem with the switch, where it's not making contact when you move it to send the window up. Have you tried both, the switch on the door as well as the one on the driver's door?If both are acting this way it then it could be the window is getting stuck on the way up or the motor is getting old, worn out and no longer has the power to move the window up. (It takes a lot more power to move the window up than down.)

98 honda civic engine overheats, cooling fan does not turn on

Under the hood of the engine, close to the battery, there is a black plastic box. This is the Fuse Relay and Control Unit Box location. Remove this Box cover. The top of this box shows which fuses or relays control the different electrical components within the engine. On the Drivers's Side of this box (right-side if you are leaning over the bumber and radiator, and facing the windshield) you will see a radiator fan relay. You can pull this and take it to your local Parts store and ask them to test it. If it tests bad, then buy another (likely $20+). Do NOT keep driving your car until you get your radiator fan fixed, <this image should help you>80dd710.png because over-heating the engine could ruin your engine ($$$$).

1998 HONDA CIVIC WONT START,SHOWS BOTH PARK AND DRIVE4 GEARS ON DASH BOARD?

I suspect the transmission switch to be faulty, worn out. It should start in Park and Neutral but will not start in the running gears which is what it is showing. It may be the electrical part.

I go and jump start my car. When i pull the jumpers off the other car. My Hyundai will stay running for about 2 minutes and then dies. It has a brand new battery.

Who rebuilt the alternator? Battery posts clean and tight? Auto part stores can check it for you and also hook up their cpt analyzer and find something else. Sometimes a loose or bad wire will expand when heated and lose the connection. I suspect the alternator system has something to do with it.

Replace crankshaft position sensor

Remove the left front wheel....(drivers side). Remove all accessory belts. Remove the crankshaft shaft pulley.......remove the plastic lower timing belt cover.....and there it is! It is mounted with one bolt.
The wiring runs down the right side of the timing cover while looking at it from the drivers side of the car.

My 1998 Honda Civic is overheating. It has plenty of water and oil. Can only go about 5 miles before white smoke starts and the temperature gauge starts to rise

look for bubbles in the radiator while the car is warming up (be careful of hot coolant spitting out of the cap) if there or little bubbles it could be a good indication of a blown head gasket or cracked head

Car will not start

When it was transported (driven?) to miss. they could have gotten some bad ( water and/or dirt) in the gas. Change the fuel filter. Sometimes de-natured alcohol will absorb water. Hope this helps.
