1998 Honda Civic - Page 5 Questions & Answers
I have 1998 honda civic lx , th srs light was come
What was your reset procedure? It should have been done with the yellow 2 pin check plug for SRS. The SRS system is isolated electrically from the rest of the vehicle systems, perhaps you got something loose under the dash while looking for the SRS plug, it is around a bunch of wiring. Also, if the light came on there is a failure. You should be getting the code read, it could be important. If the failure is a seat belt, they are covered by Honda on a lifetime warranty, at least in the USA. Did you check fuses in all the fuse boxes, under hood and under dash?
Help changing alternator on 1998 honda civic. how do you remove the belt or is there a belt?
The alternator has a bolt that is adjustable to keep tension on the belt. There should be a single bolt that is fixed, and probably another that sits in a slot in the bracket that allows adjustment. You'll loosen the bolt in the bracket slot and give the belt some slack, and it should come off the pulley. When replacing, you may have to have someone help pull the alternator so it puts tension on the belt, and then you can tighten it down. I have seen some vehicles that have a bolt that will turn in or out to either tighten the alternator or loosen it.
98 honda civic won't start because I washed the motor
You need to dry the following:
1. Spark plug cables at both ends inside the rubber grommets.
2. Distributor (on the inside.)
3. remove any puddled water from the spark plug holes but DO NOT remove the spark plugs. Water will get in your engine and that's not good.

Honda civic troubleshooting
It takes a lot less power to run all the goodies than it does to start your car up.Do you have a battery charger? or can you borrow one to charge the battery up overnight. You might even try a boost.Check the connections at the battery and clean them if they are dirty. This doesn't sound like a fuse to me.Try the simple stuff first and then go from there.Let me know how you make out.good luck
