Changing the differential is not an easy job especially if you've never done one before. Guessing you are keeping your same ring/pinion. You have to set the backlash with a dial indicator. The pinion has to be meshed with the ring gear at the proper depth. It's a pretty involved process. See if there's a 4x4 shop near you. They may be more friendly to your ideas. On all the cars the oxygen sensors are located just before the catalytic converter. In this position they can measure the excess oxygen in the exhaust gases and adjust the engine to compensate. They will be screwed into a socket on the top of the exhaust pipe. On some cars they also have oxygen sensors just after the catalytic converter as well. Remember, the life of any engine will depend on how well & often it is maintained, like regular oil changes etc. I've seen engines with an excellent reliability record, blow, due to neglect from lack of oil changes etc. I've also seen engines with a terrible history last a long time because they were well maintained.

You have a bad door lock actuator or the wiring going to it. You will need to remove the interior door panel and test the wiring going to the latch...you should have 12V going to it when you press either lock or unlock, and -12V when you press in the other direction...if that is what you find then you need to replace the latch assembly.

1. If your locks do nothing not even click when the button is pressed you most likely have a tripped crash sensor. If you recently had a panic stop or lots of wheel slippage with your steering wheel cranked one way or another the truck thinks you have been in a wreck. The computer has tripped the crash sensor and dissabled the door locks so you can get out. Take it to the dealer tell him you think this is the problem and you want your door lock DTC erased. The door locks will now operate normally.

2. We have found that most inop door lock issue occur at the side door. Especially if you use this door a lot. There are two contact switches at the back of the door each switch (not really a switch just a contact pad) has two brass pins that are depressed and make contact with the door frame contact pads when the door is closed. Clean all of these contacts with emery cloth at the side and rear doors. Try your locks again. Still not working? move to step three.

3. remove the side door inner panel, you will now be able to look with a flashlight towards the rear of the door and see those two contact switches. Both each have two tiny wires riveted onto each brass post. Most likely one of those wires is broken off. If so replace both contact switches. if one is broken the other is not far behind.

4. If this does not fix your problem you most likely have a door motor (Daimler calls it an Element) issue. I would not recommend just buying one as these are expensive. Take it to the dealer, have them scan the CTM (central timing module) for codes and also have them look and see if the computer is seeing the side door or any of the other doors for that matter locking and unlocking. The door that is not locking is the problem child.

5. Properly operating door locks should work as follows: Press once on the key fob to lock, the turn signal lights should flash three times. For unlock, press the fob once you should see one flash, this has unlocked the driver door only, press again within a second or two and the light should flash a second time. You could try replacing the relay. it should be in the fuse box under your dash. it might look like a little silver cylinder with two prongs

Black smoke is evidence of a rich fuel condition.
The simplest thing to do first is to inspect the air filter.
It that doesn't help then you have a potential sensor problem that is confusing the ECM into causing a rich fuel condition

Technical Description

Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Malfunction

Basically this means that there's a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or circuit.

You will likely not notice any serious driving problems, but there may be symptoms like a general decrease in power or sluggishness.
Causes

A code P0100 may mean one or more of the following:

* The MAF may be disconnected, or a wiring connection may be bad.
* The MAF sensor may be faulty.

Possible Solutions

Use an OBD II Reader (or go tou your local parts store and they will for free) and reset the code and see if it comes back.
Then start with the cheapest, easiest repair procedures:

* Check the Mass Air Flow Sensor wiring/harness is connected properly and that there are no broken / frayed wires.
* Unplug and reconnect the MAF wiring harness a few times to clear the contacts.
* Check the voltage of the MAF sensor (refer to a repair manual for vehicle specific information).
* Replace the MAF sensor.

you could remove the filter and blow it out with compressed air. Put it back oriented in the same direction as removed. Your owners manual should have detailed directions.

Sounds more like an O2 Sensor or just a coincidence that you lost a seal or something that is allowing oil into the exhaust. The Smoke tells me it's oil in the Exhaust as in most cases with an O2 sensor you would just get an odor of Fuel because it was flooding.

if you let the tank get too low then it could mess up any contaminants inside the tank or as you say poss water in fuel from supplier, no way of proving either.one question though ? what was wrong with fuel pump...should last 80k at least...if you have an inline paper fuel filter under bonnet this will show any contaminants... very rare....

Check on front right wheel arch from outside behind the wheel, there is vin no too

sprinters are really picky with the type of brake bulb used.. make sure it is the same make as the others.. Also the circuit boards are known to corrode together.. however usually this will set off a warning light.. other wise i would say wiring issue on that side.. let me know how it works out
