06 PT Cruiser - Stalling - Rough Idle

I have an 06 PT Cruiser Automatic with Turbo with less than 30K miles. When I slow down it idles rough and seems to be misfiring or something similar. It has completely stalled on me on two different occassions, but starts right back up.When it starts idling rough, if I put it in park and press the accelarator it evens out temporarily. I've had it in the shop 3 times, but they cannot seem to get any type of fault codes from it. They have duplicate the problem a couple times, but have not been able to pinpoint the problem. Please Help.

2006 PT Cruiser Wipers Don't work

My wipers quit working and when I would turn them on and off real fast they would move about a 1/4 inch. Finally they stopped working completely but the rear wiper and fluid for front and rear works fine. I tried replacing the motor for the front wipers but nothing. Now when I turn the ignition to the on position just before starting the wipers will jump a 1/4 inch again. But will not move when the wiper switch is in the on position. Is it a wiring problem or a switch I need to replace?

I had the same problem. It was the wiper computer module according to the dealership. Fortunately it was covered under extended warranty and cost $100 deductible.

Disconnect negative battery terminal. Remove air cleaner assembly and battery. Then you can remove the 15mm bolt holding the upper part of the starter to the bell housing. Next raise the vehicle by jack on jack stands or suitable support. Remove lower bolt from starter and then you will be able to lower it enough to access the wiring to the starter. Be sure to retain the shim that goes between starter and housing. Install is reverse of removal.

I have a 2006 PT Cruiser that the left low beam

I have a 2006 PT Cruiser that the left low beam headlamp bulb blew out; I purchased a replacement bulb and replaced it, the bulb would not light, so I then swapped the bulb from the right side with the left side bulb and it worked on right side but yet the bulb from right side would not light on left side; the high beam on the left side works as does the left turn signal and foglight; I checked for fuses and there are no fuses for the low beam headlight; I checked the wiring and it appears fine; put a tester on the plug outlet and found no current; I called a Chrysler dealership who said it should have reset itself but if not the control module might have to be replaced which cost $580.00; that's absurd that a low beam headlamp that quits could lead to an expensive solution. So everytime a headlight blows and I spend $14 for a bulb that a control module will need to be replaced as well. I need some logical advice on a realistic reasonable solution.

This is a legitimate problem with light bulbs on Chrysler products.. The best resolution is to purchase a used module from a salvage yard to replace yours which is very much cheaper to do

I have a "no bus"

I have a "no bus" indication where the miles are, the door chimes when no key is in ignition, dash lights stay on. I unplugged the fuse for interior lights and reset all the issues but car will not start, and after trying the problem comes back. In a 2006 PT Cruiser. wire hanging from bottom of car, looks like a plug for the headlamp but its not the color is white with yellow stripe and a black.

"NO BUS" means that your insturment cluster is not communicating with the onboard computer. Your cars have a "data bus" the same as a personal computer. It is basically just part of the Chrysler computers wiring system.

Try checking plug in connectors in your wiring system. This could possibly be somewhere besides behind the instrument cluster, such as at the computer. Another thing to check is the ground system. I don't know about your particular vehicle, but I have found a few vehicles with a loose ground wire, which was driving the instruments crazy. In those cases, there was a ground wire with a metal grommet attached to the metal body or dash structure somewhere under the dash. I have found on some vehicles it is attached on the left side under the edge of the dash right above the emergency brake pedal.

I hope this helps.

I do not see a specific fuel pump relay on this vehicle.. The auto shutdown relay however is located on the drivers side firewall right below the windshield. If you are standing at the drivers side fender.. look toward the engine and it will be on your right hand side.. Hope this helps.. There is a starter relay in this location too...The ASD relay will be on the right hand side..

I just had the same problem happening with my 2006 PT Touring. Took it to the dealership. The issue was the electric parts of the ignition switch. They replaced it and all is well in the world again.

I have a 2006 pt cruiser automatic. It will crank but not start. We changed the battery, fuel pump, spark plugs, crank shaft sensor, cam sensor, coil pack and the ignition switch. It still only cracks and won't start. We put it on a code reader and it isn't reading any codes. We are at a loss can you help.

I need to correct something the previous writer said. If disconnecting the battery will reset the system, then ALWAYS remove the ground wire FIRST. If you are removing the positive cable it is very easy to touch ground with your tool and cause an arc, which is never a good thing. I am always amazed at how many so-called mechanics and technicians do not know this elementary thing about electricity and cars.

This code sets when the transmission control module (inside the powertrain control module, PCM), doesn't see output voltage from the TIPM, the fuse box/module under the hood. On command of the TCM, the TIPM supplies power on this circuit, which powers the solenoid pack mounted on the front of the trans. This feed also goes to the TCM, so it knows when the solenoid pack is receiving power or when it isn't.
This code sets when there is no voltage seen on the circuit. That could be caused by it being shorted to ground, a bad TIPM, an open wire or high resistance and voltage drop, or a bad PCM. It's going to take some electrical diagnostics to tell exactly where the problem is, whether it's wiring, PCM, or TIPM.
At the TIPM you'll find this wire in pin 3 of connector 10, a yellow/orange wire.
It then goes to a junction connector and changes color. After the connector it's solid red. It's red at the PCM, in pin 19 of connector 4. At the solenoid pack on the trans it's also solid red, coming in on pin 4. Good luck
