Look under the dashboard ( you may need to see the movie " Honey, I shrunk the kids" and shrink yourself to do this.) Above the brake pedal is a switch that is activated when you push the pedal. When you do, a tiny plunger comes out of the switch, and that causes the switch to go to the "on" position. Your switrch may have fallen out of it's holder, or may be broken, and needs replacement. I would first visit my local parts store an have them scan for any codes. If no codes are available I would then try a fluid and filter change.
