1997 Cadillac DeVille - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I have a 97 cadillac
If the stereo was removed, the speakers may have been removed as well. Did you check if they are there?
Also, you need to make sure the car didn't have a Bose system installed - that system adds an amp between the radio and the speakers, and if the amp is in place, your aftermarket radio can't use it (if it is there or has been removed, you will have to bypass the connectors at the amp location so the wiring at the radio can reach the speakers directly).
In any case, you need to find and look up the entertainment system option installed when the car was built, and the get a wiring diagram for that system (try Alldatadiy.com).
So I have a problem with my Cadillac Deville
The only one to be concerned about right off isP0603 "Control Module long term reset". Once this is figured out the other codes will probably clear.
Possible causes Loose or poor battery terminal connection Low battery charge Engine Control Module (ECM) / Powertrain Control Module (PCM) power supply circuit is open or shorted ECM/PCM Programing Faulty ECM/PCM

Horn and power seats quit working. maxi-fuse
which maxi fuse gets hot ? # fuse , plus amps The power seats uses a 30 amp circuit breaker ,not a fuse . The horn gets power from the same circuit breaker . . Sounds like something is drawing to much current. Do you know how to use a amp meter to test current flow . Disconnect componets till draw goes away ? How to use a wiring diagram to pin point areas in a circuit to test ?
Is there corrosion on the pins where the seat circuit breaker plugs into ? Reach under your seats an see if one of the seat motors is hot .
DeVille
The left and the right power seat system consist of the following components:
• The seat switches
• The seat relay modules
• The 4 reversible motors:
- The front vertical motor
- The rear vertical motor
- The horizontal motor
- The recline motor
These 4 motors operate independently of each other.
When the entire seat switch is pushed to the FORWARD position, the forward input of the of the seat relay is grounded.
The seat relay module supplies battery positive voltage (B+) with a ground to the horizontal motor, in response to this input. In order to drive the seat forward, the motor runs until the switch is released.
The BACK position works similar to the FORWARD position with the exception that the voltage polarity supplied by the seat relay module is reversed causing the motor to run in the opposite direction. This action drives the seat backward.
These recline switches operate similar but independently:
The seat relay module could be bad , If you don't know how to do automotive electrical circuit testing it mite be a good idea for you to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.
Could have diagnostic trouble codes stored as well .

Passlock security light
The security, or passlock light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link may help you find ways to bypass this or fix it yourself.

How to open back doors
You have to remove the door panel with the door closed, then switch the child lock to "unlock"
Low oil pressure and stop engine light after changing battery and alternator hear knocking now
I see more than one issue in your story. Its possible the computer lost memory and will need to relearn. But that would not explain the knocking noise. The oil pressure warning might explain the noise if oil pressure really is low. Running without the belt for even 5 min would not cause the problems you describe.
I would focus on the low oil pressure warning and the noise first.
