It sounds like your idle control valve is sticking. The video shows you where they are located on a 97 Buick but it is the same engine.
This video shows you how to replace them.
You mean 4,000 rpm . No engine goes 40,000 rpm . senor on the transmission that control the rpm. No SENSOR on the transmission ! Crank sensor's Take it to someone who has a tool like in the video an knows what he is looking at .
Ignition Scan data
I would suggest having the vehicle put on a scanner and monitor the operating parameters of the sensor for heater signal operation and sensor performance. You may not have overlooked anything. However, without knowing what the sensor is actually doing nand reading, you will be chasing your tail
If you follow up the brake pedal towards the steering column, you will see the switch. The switch can be at the front of the pedal or at the back of the pedal. It's not a difficult replacement, it's just hard to lay on your back in that small space and do the job. The part costs about $10.00. The question I have is why are you looking to replace? The faults are usually brake lights stay on which will kill your battery , or switch is bad and brake lights don't come on when pedal is depressed. I would first check for blown fuses, and blown bulbs. If you need any additional help please get back to me. GOOD LUCK FREIND.
Find the radio station you would like to store. Then press and hold down the button you wish to assign to that station until you hear a BEEP. That station will then be stored to that button.
CHECK THAT THE LINKAGE ON THE TRANSMISSION ISNT HUNG UP. OR HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CHECKED. MAY NEED A TRANSMISSION SERVICE DUE TO A PLUGGED FILTER.
you should ask the buick 4S shop to check the component model of your fuel filter, not just a size! or you can use a diagnostic tool like Multi cardiag M8 this to scan the model by yourself
