How do I bypass 1992-94 buick park avenue security system?
On mine I bypassed it with this solution after it was locked down for weeks: http://newrockies.ca/vatsbypass . This one will bypass the entire system and not only the key and lock cylinder. I wanted to kick the whole system out of my car and never hear about it anymore.

I need the color codes for the fuel pump and fuel gauge wires at the fuel tank
the gray wire is the fuel pump wire, black wire is ground, purpal or pink wire is the fuel gauge wire and will read 5 volts with the key on.

''92 BUICK PARK AVENUE 3.8 HOW TO RESET CHANGE OIL SOON LIGHT!
The reset button is located under the passenger side of the instrument panel.
With the ignition in the ON position, but the engine not started, use a pencil to push the reset button, holding it for five seconds.
After this, the "Change Oil Soon" lamp will flash four times. This indicates that the Oil Life Monitor System has acknowledged the oil change.

Have changed the battery, had the alternator checked and has been to a local shop approx 9+ times . Circuits were tested and cannot find the area causing the battery to go dead. All interior and ext light circuits tested, radio, power seats, cig lighters, a/c circuits. Need some ideas.

Parasitic drain? If so, did they run a test light on the negative terminal? Unhook the negative battery cable, run a test light between the negative battery post and the negative (removed) cable end. Does the light come on? If so, remove each fuse, one at a time, when you hit the circuit that is draining, the light will go off.
I have a 95 Buick Roadmaster and it was doing the same thing. It was a broken light in the trunk, the bulb was out, but the electricity was still there. The wire became damaged when my daughter overloaded the trunk. Just a couple of ideas...

The courtesy lights on my 1992 Buick Park Avenue will not turn off. Is this a relay problem ? If so which relay do I replace ?
i would hazard a guess and say its more like a faulty door pillar switch and most likely is the drivers door as it gets the most use

I have a 1993 buick lesabre and the headlights won't turn off I was told by a gm garage it was the headlight control modual and that one cannot get one is there anyway that i can bypass this?
"bad light switch" doesn't mean anything... c'mon!
My '92 park avenue's headlights come on after the car is turned off AND the headlights are turned off, but only at night! I suspect something with the "sentinal" switch... or maybe a bad connection in the ignition switch which, though the car is off, tells the sentinal system that it is on, and it is dark out.
Dude, I think Park Ave has this problem i general. I suggest chang your steering wheel position to all the way up and see. or play with it. I had the same prob, and this solution solved it.

My car is stuck on park and I can't get it to shift to neutral or anything. the car starts up fine. Is there anything I need to check to get it out of being stuck in park?
sounds like a neatral safety switch problem

anti theft module
It's when the security light starts flashing that the infamous "chip" in the key becomes a nightmare to many. Gradually the car begins not cranking anymore or if it cranks it would start and die in a second. Randomly it will do this more and more often until it won't start anymore. VATS, PASSkey and Passlock immobilizer systems are killing cars all over North America, they have a short lifespan and are certainly more effective against owners than thieves. Here is how you save your car
1st trick, Try a spare key that is newer or used less. The pins wear down and so do the keys causing security fail. 2nd trick, (if not starting) turn the key forward 2 clicks till right before it would normally start, leave like that for 10 minutes. ( no less ) After 10 minutes, turn key back then forward and your car might start. I did this in my regal for more than a year. If its shutting down while running, im sorry i have no quick fix... If anything on this page helps you, please remember to comment or give me a thumbs up on the myfixya sight so i can have a better rating to help more people on this. Thanks
Cheap fix: Bypass the chip in your key. Temporary, but effective. Until the TDM (theft deterrent module) in the dash poops out, then you're kinda screwed. I was told that these types of key security systems have a 7-10 year life span. Sucks for us. This link explains the "Key Issue" pretty well.

Never worry again fix: Bypass the whole VATS/Passlock/passkey I or passkey II system entirely. Literally take it out, and throw it away. I just did this in my Regal. Took about an hour. Took longer to find the thing than it did to fix the problem. They sell a unit for 200 bucks to totally bypass this system FOREVER. life time-money back and all that. Finally did this in my car. Well worth the 200 if you've looked into getting this replaced... Anywhere from 600-1000 bucks. If you do buy this, please purchase it thru this link. The cost is the same, but i get credit for the sale and im trying to earn my money back, as you will be able to do if you buy fron NewRockies and join the free affiliate program. Thanks
----- http://newrockies.ca?ap_id=judd0081 ----- With this fix, you can take that whole Vats, passlock, passkey system out of your car all together. Good info on both sites.
It works for:
Any GM or Isuzu Vehicle with VATS or PASSKey or PASSLock security systems.
If your car has the chip in the key or in the lock cylinder, then you can save it with this Full Bypass.
