My cooling fan is not

The low speed side of that relay is the most common failure point in this system. Usually you can still hear the relay click, but the contact points are burned away.
I am not familiar with the Z3 fuse box, but the the first step in the diagnosis of that circuit is to pull the wire off the temperature sensor in the radiator. Use a paper clip to jumper from the high and low speed wires to the ground wire (ground is usually brown on BMWs). You will probably hear the relay click and the fan may or may not come on for either speed. If it clicks but the fan does not come on, and you know the fan works, just follow the sound of that click and replace the relay.
If the relay does not click, it may still be a relay problem, but check your fuses before replacing the relay..

Can't open the driver door

You will need to take the door apart, some times it's just a spring poped out of place, sometimes a little plastic piece broke, no telling till you get it apart!

I have moisture on the inside of the headlight

Just a suggestion, remove the light assembly, remove one bulb, blow air into the unit, see where the air leaks out, seal it with Goop. Quick and easy.

I just bought a 2001

The sound normally comes when brake is applied. This is due to faulty brake shoes .Also check for brake oil.If its low or leaking. Also check air in brake .For brake light coming on and going off it can be shorting out brake switch and weak brake fuse. They must have clean the brake assembly parts and replaced the brake fuse.If still the problem returns again get the brake plates and shoes checked and replaced. Thanks.

Rapid battery discharge

Battery discharge when connected is a regular fault when there are too many electronics connected some of them directly active even when the main switch is off. these can be the clock, the stereo system, the power amp, the remote controller, the auto lock, auto start or any other accessories. You will need to carefully go about to identify with the aid of a good ammeter. Disconnect the main battery terminal and recconnect it in series with the ammeter. If there is a leak in the system it will show up as a good reading . Usually a reading less than few milli amps can be ignored but if the current drain is high then carefully disconnect each of the acessories which is present in the car either byt disconnection of fuse or main wire to device. Once the reading drops to a very low level on discoonection of a particular device, you have the culprit in hand. Keeping this circuit disconnected and check out after two days but your batterry must be in trim condition ( not drained earlier). Hope this helps you out. Good day

Hi, my dad bought a BMW Z3 2002 and we can not

Greetings from Maryland. I have had issue with codes before myself, and it appears that ONLY dealers can provide proper coding, usually for free. Once they unlock and engage the radio for you they will give you a copy of the code for your use later. The odds are the NYC dealer provided a bad digit.

Trying to find procedures for a 2001 bmw z3 3.0

to start you will need a 32 mm wrench and long narrow flathead to remove the fan blade, looking at the motor is releases the the right, spin off the blade and remove along with fan shroud for accesabilty, loosten the 4 10mm nuts on the water pump pully before removing the belt as bekt will hold tension but dont fully remove the bolts just release a couple of turnsuse a 16mm socket or a 8mm hex key to remove the alternator w/p belt,no need to remove fully, there will be either a hex head for a socket on the belt tensioner and if not pop off the plastic cover on the front of the pully to reveal a hex key bolt, once the belt is off remove the 4 w/p pully bolts, if the pully doesnt come right off lubricate with penetrating oil and tap lightly with a hammer while spinning it slowly and it will release, now that the pully is removed you can now see 4 10mm nuts hold on the w/p.remove the nuts and spray aroung the pump with wd40,you can try to pull and wiggle on the pump, if it doesnt come out you must obtain 2 bolts that will fit to the sides of the pump, you will see two thread holes that are empty, when you thread a bolt through with even tension on l and r sides the w/p will begin to pull away from the block. Once the pump is out lubricate the new pumps o ring with coolant to help slide it in, push in the new pump and re assemble in reverse,to fill the cooling system open the phillips screw on the overflow expansion tank, fill system with a 50=50 mixture of coolant until coolant comes through the bleeder screw with no bullbles, close the blleder screw and run the car at idle with the windsheild defroster on and heat at full. monitor the coolant level until it has sufficient flow and close cap,you can have a friend rev the engine to about 2000 rpm for this, road test the car and allow to cool, re check for leaks and fluid level when cold again to ensure repairs are correct

I put th key in the ignition and it will not turn.

Not a lot of info here. I am assuming you are saying you can't turn the key in the lock. If the steering wheel is under pressure (can happen even with the wheels straight ahead) the lock mechanism can be putting pressure on the key making it very hard for the ley to release the lock mechanism. Try pulling on the wheel in one direction and turning the key. If nothing, try turning the wheel the other direction and try turning the key. You may need to replace the lock mechanism. This usually involves being able to turn the key in the lock or having to drill the lock. You are probably going to need a locksmith for this one but at least that is cheaper than going to the BMW shop. Of course you are not completely free of BMW because if the locksmith has to punch the lock, you will need to get a replacement.
