My sterio is constantly showing SAFE. Cannot unlock it.
I don't have anu code but was going to try default codes to see if it workes.
Can you help me with this and code issue????
First off, the last of the "trunk sticers" were in Audi 100's, so that was a long time ago. You may find a trunk monkey thou!
Second, any audi dealership can get you your code with your Vin number by useing either Elsaweb or AccessAudi, you do not NEED to take the car in. They just want you to take it in so that they can charge you. A card was supplied with your car from factory with the code, but most people remove the card and loose it or don't send it with the car when sold.
Third, the code IS NOT located on the sticker on the radio, this would defeat the Anti-theft purpose of having a code to unlock the radio if someone stole your radio, "put it on the radio", THINK !!?? Someone may have written it on your radio, but the factory DID NOT.
Each radio has a program procedure that can be found here
http://www.ibiblio.org/tkan/audi/radios/radios.html
find your radio and have the code. 2 or 3 wrong codes will lock you out for at least 1 hour.
You need special keys to remove Audi radios also, if you don't believe me about the sticker on the radio.

My Audi A6 Quattro 2.8 misfires when warm. I have changed the Plugs and plug leads, but thr problem persists
You may have a coil pack going bad. They're on the front top of the engine - you'll see them if you follow the spark plug wires back. Do you have any codes from having the engine scanned? If you can get it scanned (AutoZone will do it free), post the codes up and we'll see which cylinder(s) are misfiring. From there, you can swap coilpacks around and see whether the misfires follow the packs or stay in the original cylinders. If they move, you have a bad coil pack or two. If they don't, since you've already changed plugs and wires, I'd see about having the injectors diagnosed to see if any of them are failing.

abs and brake light is flashing on my 99 audi a6 quattro i cant comunicate with the abs module
If you need to repair the brake module, there is a fantastic article, complete with photos, at http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec116.shtml
I followed this example for my '98 and now it works perfectly. I found a shop on eBay to rebuild my module (lifetime warranty) for under $200. It took me about 1 hour to pull it off and about 45 min to put it back on with minimum shop tools

How do i disable child lock on my audi a6? I tried to press down the button down on the left side of the drivers seat but it just comes right back up.
if you open the door you want to lock and have a look where the door lock mech is there should be a switch to activate child lock or use a screw driver to turn the switch
if this helps please let me know
cheers

my audi A4 radio will not turn on. its almost like there is no power to it.
In back side of the radio, (for Audi A4, A6 - year 1999), you will find a blowed fuse = 10A (red colour). Replace it and that's all. Also:
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have the security anti-theft code for yours Audi Concert radio from the car manufacturer! For Audi Concert the sequence of programming is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
3. By the #1 key you will set up the first safe code digit.
4. By the #2 key you will set up the second safe code digit.
5. By the #3 key you will set up the third safe code digit.
6. By the #4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

how to reset air bag light on audi 1999
a B5. Look under the front of the seat - you'll see two harnesses there. The yellow one (closer to the center of the car) is the airbag connector. Zip-tie it tightly together, and then have the light turned off (find someone nearby with VagCom to do it for you - a dealer will hit you at least a half-hour labor to do it). Be careful when zip-tying though - the wires are small and the ones on the back could get pinched and damaged.

Air bag light staying on
Hi Jeremy!
WOW! thank you very much about your tips!! I fix my airbag light just moving the yellow wire under my driver seat at NO COST!!
I got Captiva LX 2007 and the airbag lights on for month and I know Holden dealer charge a lot for any repairs!
Airbag light on - fixed now!! Thanks again!
Now i need to fix my Engine light - Holden dealer quote me for 4K-6K to replace the timing chain..
I got quote from the local mechanic for $2400 ---- a lot cheaper!!
Cheers
