Where is the charging fuse 2001 a-6 Wagon

There is no charging fuse on an Audi. If it stops charging the solution reside in your alternator. On some model, the brushes and regulator module can be replaced without removing the alternator. Good luck!

How to reset the air bag light on audi 1999

First of all you should access the Airbag ECU (Electronic Control Module) using suitable diagnostic equipment (VAS, VAG-COM) connected to the data link connector of the car in order to erase all faults - DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Code) memored, unlock and reset the Airbag ECU. Then the Airbag light will turn OFF after approx. 4 seconds, ignition ON.
Good Luck!

How to reset air bag light on audi 1999

a B5. Look under the front of the seat - you'll see two harnesses there. The yellow one (closer to the center of the car) is the airbag connector. Zip-tie it tightly together, and then have the light turned off (find someone nearby with VagCom to do it for you - a dealer will hit you at least a half-hour labor to do it). Be careful when zip-tying though - the wires are small and the ones on the back could get pinched and damaged.

Bose Radio code

First off, the last of the "trunk sticers" were in Audi 100's, so that was a long time ago. You may find a trunk monkey thou!
Second, any audi dealership can get you your code with your Vin number by useing either Elsaweb or AccessAudi, you do not NEED to take the car in. They just want you to take it in so that they can charge you. A card was supplied with your car from factory with the code, but most people remove the card and loose it or don't send it with the car when sold.
Third, the code IS NOT located on the sticker on the radio, this would defeat the Anti-theft purpose of having a code to unlock the radio if someone stole your radio, "put it on the radio", THINK !!?? Someone may have written it on your radio, but the factory DID NOT.
Each radio has a program procedure that can be found here
http://www.ibiblio.org/tkan/audi/radios/radios.html
find your radio and have the code. 2 or 3 wrong codes will lock you out for at least 1 hour.

You need special keys to remove Audi radios also, if you don't believe me about the sticker on the radio.

What does a warning symbol showing a circle w/an x

  • Hi, I can help.

  • On that year Audi (A6) the only two lights that would illuminate on your dash will either be for the brake light (top image in the diagram) or a headlight or tail light is out (bottom part of the diagram. So basically have a look at your lights, one of them is out.

  • No other lights on your dash have an "X" on them when illuminated.

Need radio card number for

Hi,

You can get this code from your Audi dealer - However they will charge you for it and this is why I can give you the following advice to be able to get it for free!. Not many people are aware of this and this is why Audi Dealers will try to charge you at least $40 for this code.

When your Audi was supplied new it came with a keycard with your radio details and the code for the radio embossed on it. On the back of that card it clearly states and I quote as near as I can to the actual wording.

"In the event that your codecard is lost - please contact your Audi Network dealer and Audi will provide the owner with the code for your radio for FREE"

I know that you may have purchased your car second hand and not from new but that is not the point. Audi themselves have printed this on the back of the keycards supplied with these cars and you are entitled to get the code for free.

What happens is that as changes of ownership occur the keycards get lost and subsequent owners are not aware of this promise from Audi printed on the back of the card. Audi dealers will try to charge but they are NOT entitled to do this. Ring your local Audi dealer with the VIN no of your car which you will find on your registration document.

If you run into any bother with them wanting to charge - quote their own terms back at them and demand that they satisfy their own terms. If they do not capitulate tell them you want to speak directly with head office and that you will take it up with trading standards.

You will get your code - mark my words!

You should also be aware that these Audis cannot be decoded via serial except by the Audi Network from their own database and there is absolutely no other way of getting the code unless you send the radio to a specialist decoding workshop which will also cost a fair bit of money.

So - stand your ground - explain that you know your rights and you will get your code for free. One of the very few manufacturers that will supply for free - the other being Honda. The rest all charge.

Let us know how you get on. If you have any problems I may have an Audi Codecard here that I could scan for you but rest assured this is their own language and promise.

Hope it helps. Please do leave a vote for the solution. Thanks for using FixYa

1999 Audi A6 Quattro will not run over 1500 RPMs.

Start your car, then unplug the battery. if it dies, your alternator may need to be checked at an automotive parts store for it may be bad. If it runs, your battery has a dead cell and needs to be replaced.

Audi A6 Quattro- Replaced steering

Hi

Tee into a steering line and with the wheels off the ground turn to stops and check pressure, then do the same with wheels on the ground.Try to do one steering cylinder at a time also and check them by plugging the lines to the one cylinder then the other because sometimes what looks good is realy leaking by under high pressure also.

Have you checked the power steering fluid?
