It would surprise me if the car didn't require a chip in the key being a 2006 model, the reason it works on the door is because the door lock doesn't have the chip reading equipment which is fitted to the ignition system, it relies purely on the lock tumbler, the key will fit in and turn the ignition but the car won't start

If you have spark,and you hear the fuel pump run,check for a fuel injector pulse at the injectors.You can also give it a shot of quick start into the intake to see if it will start on that.If it does then you do have a fuel delivery problem.

this is a longshot, try unplugging it, wait about 30 seconds and plug it back in.

-Air flow sensor might be too dirty or bad connection. Try clean it then erase the code to see it will come back on about 20-40 mile. If not come back at all then the problem is solved. -If it come back about 20-40 mile then possibly the sensor need to be replaces well. Good luck Mai

-How do you know timing is good. Looking good outside but may be no teeth at the pulley. -All cams and valves moving when you crank? -0 compression on only 1 or 2 cylinder or on all ? -If only 1 or 2 cylinder has no compression then telling that blow head gasket or burn valves. -If all has no compression then timing belt is bad. Put seafoam for cleaning system go to auto zone they will tell you.

Any codes? clean throttle body.change a fuel filter.

running the pump dry is bad. on all EFI cars the pump is fuel cooled and fuel lubricated if you run any pump dry, you risk pump damage but lets hope it not damaged, hope is good. key on 10 times, hear it run?(the pump) let it run 10 times not started and pray it works, and this trick primes it and gets all air out of the line the 3 second run time is called just that auto prime. then run it. never run EFI cars dry, its a rule. the dash chime told you it was low, ignore that at your risk.
