2006 Pontiac Vibe - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Car won't start, battery is good. Could it be
It could be the stater has gone out. If you try to crank it and here a click sound from under the hood that is one indication of a bad starter. Try locating the starter, usually under the hood bolted onto the transmission, it is round with a couple of wires going to it. Try to tap on it with a rubber hammer. This usually frees up the stater and allows it to crank. It is a short term fix though.
Rust bubbles on roof
The cost will cover the removal of the old one, fitting of the new one and a colour matched paint job. (The most expensive part as it involves a lot of labour) If the rust has penetrated the roof then this is only one of the repair options. You could have it patch repaired but the paint job will still make it expensive. If the rust hasn't penetrated, you could rub it down, treat the rust and then paint ( Paint costs will be lower as it will be a chip repair paint job.)
Pontiac Vibe roof rust perforations
We also have a 2006 Pontiac Vibe and have had not had any problems with the paint or rust. If you bought it new, take it back to the dealership and find out why this has happened. Otherwise, take it to 3 to 5 body shops and get estimates as to the cost of repair. If you plan to keep the car, get the best possible job done, but if you plan to sell it in the next few years then just do enough to get by.
Will not start
So you are saying the engine will not crank.A mechanic would check for voltage at the starter and trace back to the key switch. You have a neutral safety switch in the circuit that could be faulty.
