Reduced engine power codes
Assuming you do not do your own vehicle
diagnosing & work, then the folks that do, failed
to even find a problem
The APP,ETC,gas pedal or whatever name you want to
call them, are very redundant, they can be checked with scan
tool & component tested & seldom fail
Throttle Bodies get replaced a dime a dozen, because no
one knows how to test the circuits or the motor on them & it usually
is not the problem either
Shops,Mechanics,Dealers all use codes & guessing, out of frustration for an answer to those type problems
They need to spend an hour or more on the internet,in their data
base, checking bulletins & learn the system, before even going to
the vehicle, then bill you for that time & continue to work on finding
the vehicles problems with their new found education.
I will bet you can find lots on a 2003 Tahoe Reduced Engine
Power & the Codes just using Google.
So why can't the repair shops, not like they never had one
in the shop before.
You may even find the solution on You Tube Video in a live
repair shop video on the subject
Reduced speed after start running fine then does it again and again
tom, these GM products have a 'reduced power' engine mode when the engine computer detects various sensor malfunctions. The big chain auto parts stores have on-line shop manuals to help you narrow down the problem. Advance Auto, AutoZone, etc. If you can get the car to the store, many of them will read your scan codes at no charge to help diagnose the problem. In my case, a throttle body position sensor was going bad. Identified the problem, replaced the part, problem solved.
Steering problem
if its a power steering setup with the belt pump setup with fluid then the pump has worn out, harder steering and hissing are common symptoms of a faulty pump
Chevy tahoe shuts off when driving
i am on here because of an issue i am currently having with a 2004 tahoe, but after reading some the other problems people are having i will let you in on a previous experience i had with a 2002 chevy truck. my previous vehicle was a 02 chevy 2500hd with the 8.1 and the problem started on day when suddenly it shut off. it did restart with no problem. i never had that problem again until a month later and 1500 miles away when i went to texas to visit my sister. this time it took nearly 30 mins before it would restart. it would crank over fine but no fire. then suddenly out of no where it would fire up like nothing ever happened. so anyways to make a long story short i visited two different gm service centers, they did tune ups and diagnostics, and handed me the bills for over 500 dollars and told me that should do it. yea right the problem continued and then i searched online and one item that kept coming up was the crank position sensor. after reading what those people were dealing with i gave it a shot. went to the dealer bought a new sensor ($99) took an hour to install it and i never had the problem again. one last thing im gonna add. i had a friend that drove a late 90s or early 2000s grad prix, she was having the same problem and had her car in and out of the shop and never got it resolved, i told her to have them check the crank position sensor and bingo, she never had the problem again.
My tahoe crankes and tryes to start but just lopes for about 2 seconds
The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.
