Key's snapped off inside ignition

Hi I would suggest you ring the Automobile association, and see whether one of their mobile mechanics can solve your problem. extracting a car key from the barrel may be more difficult than it appears. He, the mobile man may have done it before and have the right tools for the problem.

VW 1.9 liter Turbo Diesel (not TDI) oil pan removal.

The gasket is most likely just holding it up and a little prying is needed like you think. As long as all of the bolts around it are taken out, you should be fine to start prying out. Then you will need to scrape the old gasket off and replace it. Let me know if you have any other questions.

2 cyclinders are working out of 4

You mean without taking it to a shop for repairs, or at least some diagnosing? Check for spark on all four cylinders. If two do not have a spark, the problem is in your ignition system. Possibly the ignition coil for the two not working. If all four spark plug wires do have spark, it could be a fueling problem to the cylinders not firing, or it could be an internal mechanical problem in the engine. Then you would need professional help. Google or watch a vid on you-tube for how to check for spark, if you are not sure.

My 1996 VW passat over heats. how can i fix it?

The hard hose it a sign of max pressure in the cooling system. Check that the fins in the core of the radiator are solid and not blocked. have a pressure test done on the cooling system for engine faults. Have the radiator fushed out by a radiator shop. Check that the thermostst is opening. Start cold and hold you hand on the top hose It will be cold for maybe 10 minutes and if the thermostat is working it will get warm and then hot to the touch as the unit opens and allows hot water to flow to the top tank

Cant get power to fuel pump

try the prim wire next to the battery, looks like a single spade connector all by it self, most of the time its a red wire, put a 12 volt power to it if the pump kicks on there then check the F/P relay in the fuse block make sure its sending power, if you get nothing at those places replace the fuel pump and connection wires while you have it out.

Thermostat for vw passat 1995 vr6

I have found the thermostat- it is located at the right end of the engine block- up high- follow the radiator hose from the radiator to the engine- the thermostat is right there. There are 3 allen-head screws (5mm hex) that attach the thermostat cover to the thermostat housing. The issue I am having is that I can't reach on of the screws. I need help.

I dont have the tool

Hi there, you should be able to get those tools at any car stereo store. Of you are unable to procure the correct tools you can use two, long thin flat head screwdrivers. The screwdrivers will be tricky but they will work. That'll you for the question, have a great day!

How do you use radio code for 1995 vw passat to

IMPORTANT NOTE:
You must have the security anti-theft code for your VW radio from the car manufacturer, or from a VW dealer!
You can find the radio code at: http://www.radio-code.co.uk/

The sequence of programming for 1995 VW Passat radio is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
For example: we have the security code "5079". Then:
3. By the no.# 1 key you will set up the first safe code digit. Push 5 times on the no.# 1 button. The "5" number will be setted.
4. By the no.# 2 key you will set up the second safe code digit. Push 10 times on the no.# 2 button. The "0" number will be setted.
5. By the no.# 3 key you will set up the third safe code digit. Push 7 times on the no.# 3 button. The "7" number will be setted.
6. By the no.# 4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit. Push 9 times on the no.# 4 button. The "9" number will be setted.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

1995 VW PASSAT back hatchback will not stay open.

You'll need to buy replacement hatch struts and replace them. You can find these at auto parts stores, or by searching on the internet.

They come off by carefully twisting the body of the strut to the side until it comes loose (if they are the type that don't have a nut holding them in place). Do this on both ends, and I would suggest using a pair of pliers wrapped in an old T-shirt or duct tape that will keep from damaging them. Use the old ones for practice, and that way you won't damage the new ones when you put them in.

You can probably use a broomstick to hold the hatch open while you do this. Wrap the ends in duct tape to keep it in place (sounds crazy but it works LOL).
