I want to recharge the AC on a 2002 Pontiac Montana, but the owners manual does not document where the low pressure connection is for the AC
A see a silver tube in front and fairly low in the engine compartment that has a black dust cover on it - is that the low side connection for AC recharging?
the low port is between the engine and the radiator support and the high pressure port is by the cruise controll module

symbol in warning light indicator not in owner's manual
This is the Low Brake Fluid sign, Either get a brake job (which puts fluid back in master cylinder) or top up fluid....a the brakes wear the level goes down in the master cylinder, soon, if left unattended it will shut down the traction control and it will give you a warning light. I drove for an extra 40000miles before doing my brakes.

How do I change the thermostat in a 2002 Pontiac Montana?
Little to no heat.
check the coolant level fiirst...if that is low it wont give you any heat.....to change the thermostat you have to follow the top radiator hose to the engine.at the send of it you will see a clamp take it loose...then you will see the thermostat housing its held in place by 2 bolts . once you remove them you have the thermostat....make sure you clean all the old gasket material off both the housing and mount.also make sure you get a new gasket.

My passenger window won't go up from their button or mine and sometimes the drivers side doesn't go up
I have dealt with this on an Oldsmobile Silhouette...basically the same car. First thing to check is the fuse for the Power Windows, located in the fuse panel inside the cabin (open the passenger side door and it should be on the end of the dashboard). If the fuse is good, there is a strong possibility it is the switch. An ideal situation would be to test to figure out which one is bad, if you have another van of the same family (Olds Silhouette, Chevy Venture). If you can't, the options are to get both switches and replace both, or go to a junkyard and try what you can, or hit a dealership and have them diagnose, but not fix, the problem. Replacing the window switch is cake.

Changing Spark plugs 2002 PONTIAC Montana
Hi there, A bear of a job for the back plugs. I took off the top of my motor from my windstar to reach the back three. The book said you can get to them from underneath. My arms weren't long enough. Best thing to do is buy a Haynes or Clinton's repair shop manual at your local AP store for your particular vehicle. Then read up on it in the trouble shooting section or the step by step RR section. You can purchase these at your local Auto Parts store or buy them on line at ebay burdfrenzy

how to change thermostat on a 2002 Pontiac Montana
I believe the Montana has a 3.4 Liter V6 Engine.
This thermostat is located under the exhaust "crossover" pipe that runs between both the front and rear cylinder heads. Divers side.
Remove the heat shields (10mm bolts) and then the nuts on the exhaust studs. (6 total)
Two bolts hold the T stat housing to the intake.

how to replace a radiator in a 2002 pontiac van
For Pntiac Montana, Silhouette, Venture 2000-2005 check this removal & installation procedure...
Fig. Release tension from the hose clamp at the water pump housing using the special tool J38185 (click image for zoom).
Fig. Remove the nut which secures the A/C discharge hose to the condenser block
Fig. Remove the radiator and condenser assembly
WARNING
Only a MVAC-trained, EPA-certified, automotive technician should service the A/C system or its components.
To install:
NOTE
Use the special tool J38185 to gently release tension on the hose
clamp until the hose clamp lock feature engages allowing removal of the
hose.
NOTE
Cap or tape off the open A/C hose immediately to prevent system contamination.
NOTE
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement
fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.
Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread
locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do
not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or
fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener
torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the
correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners
in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
NOTE
Release the hose clamp retention lock by using a small flat bladed screwdriver.
To install:
Hope this helps.

why won't my ignition key turn over and my steering wheel is locked in place at the sametime?
I'm assuming you mean your key wont turn in the ignition. first off check to make sure the car is in park. then what you gotta do is put in the key and put a little pressure as if turning but dont turn too hard, then even though the steering wheel is locked you will have to try to move it a little, if you parked with your tires turned then you will want to try to turn the wheel in the same direction, (even locked you should be able to move it about a half inch) you will have to turn the wheel hard but it should move enough to allow the key to turn, you may have to jiggle the key a little in the ignition but it should eventually turn, just remember not to try turning the key too hard, the extra force wont make it go but can cause the key to break. this tends to happen when you turn the car off andthe steering wheel gets locked if the wheels are turned hard in either direction. also if multiple attempts at this still dont work, try taking the key out and turning it over and trying again. Even though both sides of the key are identicle, because of wear on the key and the ignition, sometimes when the wheel locks the ignition, it will only turn if the key is put in a certain way. Hope this helps, good luck

how do I replace the power steering pump in my 2002 pontiac montana
Remove the drive belt, remove the 3 mounting bolts by using a socket ththrough the holes in the drive pulley. Remove the upper intake to give you room, slide off the rubber return hose, remove the pressure line and lift out the pump. Just reverse the process to instill the new pump. And fill with the proper fluid.
