The shift/key interlock system is malfunctioning causing the problem. Check the key and shift interlock solenoid, under shifter and inside steering column cover. Consult a mechanic please. For a temp fix open and close all doors and then tilt ur steering wheel this may free up the tumbler to take the key out.

there is two sensors: one before the catalytic converter and one after.

Try another key.The security chip in your key may have went bad and the pats module isnt recognizing it.If you dont have another factory ford key you may have to buy a new one and have it programmed.
