No start or no electrical power inside or outside

No headlights, horn, or brake lights? I would expect nothing at the ignition switch, either, then? No warning lights or gauges with key on?Any chance the battery is discharged? It would have to be very low or dead if connections are clean and tight. Inspect the cables, take them off and clean the terminals of corrosion, tighten them down good. Check the ground where it bolts to metal-if not a good ground, power will not flow. From the battery, power is sent through fuse links and maxi fuses in the power distribution box, to distribute power through all the car's circuits. Either a fuse link or a maxi fuse will send power to the ignition switch. Another will send power to the headlight switch, and another will send power to the fuse panel under the dash, powering those fuses that are hot at all times (like the brake lights and horn). It sounds like your power is not getting from the battery to the power distribution box, if just nothing works. Bad battery or bad connection, possibly.

My 1999 ford escort SE (A/T, 2.0L engine) lost

Hi, I recommend you check your valve timing. You may need a new timing belt. Yours isn't too hard to check.. Just remove the serpentine belt and then take out about 3 bolts to get the cover off. With the cover off, use a large socket and rachet to turn the engine until the timing marks are aligned as in the picture below. If the marks will not align simultaneously, replace the belt. I can send you the procedure or have it done professionally. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Need diagram showing how to install belt

first jack up the right front tire side of your car and remove cover under your car motor, so you can see your pulleys from underneath your car, remove black cover where your timing chain belt is thats on the top center between alternator and powersteering pulleys, ok,looking at all your pulleys from your right side of your front end, starting from your top left is your alternator pulley, put belt on it and go underneath the motor mount to your right top powersteering pulley, then go down around the bottom right ac pulley, then to your left bottom crankshaft pulley, the back side of the belt thats on your top alternator pulley wraps around the soft edge pulley thats above your center waterpump pulley, then wrap around the idler pulley that's under your top alternator pulley, then wrap the backside of your remaining belt around the tensioner pulley that's in on your right, under your top ac pulley, use a 13 mm wrench to adjust by turning towards the back of your car so you can slide the belt on

Replacing the front brake caliper on a 1999 Ford Escort

Very simple. Have the proper tools for one. Two...lay cardboard down because the brake dust will make some cruddy marks on the pavement. Three...are replacing the WHOL:E caliper or just replacing/resealing the piston?

Very simple to do, just make sure you block the rear wheels or front (depending on which one you are doing).

Unbolt the two carrier bolts, one upper and one lower. These are commonly hex head or "allen" head fastners. Next, have a small container under the hose you will be disconnecting. I hope you have some help to bleed.....you will need to do so. Get the extra brake fluid ahead of time....that's all you need to do really...and once you unblot and disconnect, the brake caliper should be sitting in your lap!
