97 ford windstar has no power to the tail lig hts,

Your Windstar's tail lights are controlled by the Rear Control Module. Failure of the rear module is common. You can find the module just inside the liftgate on the right (passenger) side of the vehicle. Remove he cover for the jack equipment in the right quarter trim panel and look inside. You will see the module in there. I hae had some luck finding good used modules in the salvage yard. (Definitely NOT one of Ford's better ideas!)

HAVE A SEVERE VIBRATION IN

2000 Ford Windstar shakes, wildly at times. Seems to get less noticeable the faster it is driven, but the engine looks like it is having an epileptic fit while idling. No check engine light on. PCV hose seems to be fine. Spark plugs replaced. What can it be?

When the temperatures drop or

get in your owners manual and find the locations of your fuse panels. there is generally a small one under the hood and a larger one under the dash. there will be a legend as to what is what inside the lid of the panel. find the horn relay and remove it. that will shut your horn off permanently. you may just want to try replacing it in case your old relay is bad and causing the problem. any parts store will have a Ford relay in stock.

If the inertia switch for the fuel pump has no power, there could be a break in the wire somewhere leading to it, or a fusible link has blown, if so equipped.

Sometimes, the inertia switch itself goes bad, that wouldn't explain why you have no test light power back there.

If the fuel pump was already replaced with a known good one, then that eliminates that as the culprit.

Good luck on this possible wiring repair.

I have a undertimed code

http://fordforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4823 P1537 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open.

You might want to look at the imcr valve. It is probably sticking from carbon build up? Use top engine cleaner and clean the air plenum.

Once you have done this clear the codes and go for a ride. About 30 miles should do it. If you have anymore codes it will come back up.

Turning the ignition to on I can hear the fuel

Hello i would consider changing your relay for the fuel pump from experience Ford relays are frisky i own two Ford products i know ounce the relay starts to stick and flicker your going to short the pump usually when i change a fuel pump on a Ford i always a rule change the relay as well due to past experience costumer comes back within a week fuel pump again change the relay with the pump never see them again. So i recommend you change both save your self the grief and you will need to drop the tank down to properly gain access to the wire harness for the fuel pump.

When the ignition is on

no you have to remove the tank to get to the pump. it could be your float could have a hole in it, i would check that first before buying a sending unit since you need to drop the tank any way to check that also.

How to inestol heater core for 1997 ford windstar

If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

How do i by pass door ajar chime on a 1997 ford

The only way to by pass the door ajar is to, Unplug the small box from the Wire Harness under the dash near the steering colum,( while it is sounding), to assure you are disconnecting the right thing.Because it is an integraded circuit you can not remove the fuses or relays without shutting down other integraded componants such as the horn the power door locks and possibly others. There shuold be only 2 wires going to the chime box, if there is no plug in, you may need to snip one of the wires going to it. Make sure you leave enough wire on each side of the cut so you will have enough wire left over to splice it back together later on.This is only a temporary solution and the system needs further troubleshooting.Usually the contacts between the body and the doors become dirty or corrowded. Clean all of these contacts, on all of the doors first it may solve the problem and be an easer fix. Good Luck.
