Fuel injector replace 96 ford exsplorer
Disconect your fuel rail then one at a time just pull out and push in the new fuel injectors.
Then your fuel rail snaps on to the top of all the injectors at the same time.
Just dont get the tips of the new fuel injectors dirty and you should be fine.
I replaced them on my 97 explorer.

Why wont my 1996 ford explorer start it turns over but wont start
You need to determine whether or not it is getting fuel and spark. It needs both to start. Remove one plug wire and hold it close to the engine while someone cranks it over. There should be spark from the plug wire. If there is spark, you will have a fuel supply issue. Possible fuel pump/relay/wiring/fuel filter/injectors not working to name a few. If no spark, possible crank sensor/ignition module/wiring.

How do I fix a code 44 problem? Air bag light
The air bag code 44 indicates that the air bag computer is not receiving a signal from the right front air bag sensor. This could be caused from defective wiring (loose wire or grounded through chafing) or the sensor being defective.

1996 Eddie Bauer 4.0. Does it have a linkage adjustment for the transmission for putting in gear?
Yes there is an adjustment. Get a helper and block the wheels (be careful). Have the helper sit in the vehicle with the engine turned off and the vehicle in park. Put the vehicle in park. Now crawl under the vehicle and on the drivers side at about the center of the trans pan you will see where the shift linkage comes out of the transmission. There should be a piece with a slot and you loosen a nut and this will allow the linkage to adjust. Adjust so it goes further into park. Do not adjust too far just a little. Check the trans linkage for play and damage, also check the motor mounts and transmission mount. This is a fairly complex task as if it is not done right your vehicle could come out of park and some one could get killed or hurt. Sometimes there can be damage to the park mechanism inside the transmission. If you feel that this is too complex for you to do go to a transmission shop, dealer, or someone that knows what they are doing. Please be careful! I hope this helps
