1996 ford explorer stalls like it ran out of gas

It sounds like a weak fuel pump is causing the occasional stalling, particularly when attempting acceleration at normal driving speeds. It's not unusual for it to idle with no problem if the pump is weak. Also, check the fuel lines to.from the fuel pump. If all else fails, you might consider adding an auxiliary fuel pump to counter the weak OEM pump.

Engine stops while running.

Hey Pince, the issue would revolve around what slows down while you are slowing/stopping - reducing engine RPM's...... (alternator, battery charging). A GOOD mechanic should be able to diagnose this issue,, take it to a (older) qualified professional... (older=more experience).. good luck..

1996 Ford Explorer wont pass

Search online and on ford forums. Watch some videos and see if you think you can do it yourself. Go to a trans shop not a garage and ask them where it is located.

Coolant dripping from vacuum pump on a 1997 ford explorer.

What you describe sounds like the heater valve. It is used to shut off coolant flow to the heater core when the heater is not turned on. If it is leaking, replace it.

1996 ford explorer and the lights wont go off when

Are you talking about headlamps? If you pull fuse 11--20 amp, underhood fuse box, do the headlamps go off? Right now, I'm thinking something wrong with head lamp switch. Maybe the wiring connector has a problem or circuit is shorted to voltage. With the headlamp switch in the off position, there should no voltage for headlamps. As you can see, that fuse I mentioned is hot all the time. Just my opinion. headlamp-lcgn5mx41ivb5bejviqu54id-2-0.jpg
