Ford escort sedan shape late 1996- early 1997
OK, I cannot find info on that engine, but I'm going to assume they used existing wiring from the 1.8 litre. I will paste the ignition circuit below. If there is no code set, the problem is more likely on the fuel side. I would clean the throttle plate, mass airflow sensor, and EGR system with carb cleaner. Check the EGR valve for proper operation. On the electrical side, have you checked the distributor and rotor for wear? May want to replace the ignition module if none of these other things works.
Were is the ignition control

How can I bypass an
Assume you have the PATS system with the transponder pellet in the black key? If yes, I have researched this thoroughly for one of my cars, and there is no easy bypass. Do you have at least one factory key that works? If yes, I have found a way to bypass the ignition switch so that you can use any hardware store key to operate the car. I took my one factory key and put in permanently into the tranceiver. Now I just use plain $2 keys to run the car. Will this work for you or what exactly is the issue you are dealing with?

Clutch not letting engagement of gears, clutch
hi first thing to try is to adjust the clutch pedal cable up that is done at the gearbox side by adjusting the 10mm nut on the end of the cable, if after you have done this you can then select gears you will most probably need to replace clutch due to wear.if you cant select any gears even after adjusting the cable then it sound like you have a problem with the selector rod a common fault is for the bushes to wear and knock the selector out of line, check for excessive play in selector rod rubber bush.
