How do i change a water pump on 2001 dodge intrepid?
This vehicle has a double overhead cam engine. The water pump is driven off the timing chain. Unless you have had experience doing internal engine repairs, this is not a DIYer job. There is great risk of doing more damage than good if any step(s) of the repair procedure are not done correctly.
How to replace crankshaft sensor 2001 intrepid
crank sensor is held to the motor with one bolt. disconnect the plug and remove bolt then sensor. note that Chrysler computers at that time would set codes for the opposite sensor meaning it could be the cam sensor that is faulty.
Air compressor only turns on in drive
do you mean the air condition compressor? you should have your ignition system check,i wish i had more to go on like how it happen but for now check the ignition system
Why do i have to put my car in neutural to start it
Simple the park start switch isn't functioning. If I remember correctly that is located in the center shifter console. Try pressing the shifter further toward the park setting. If it works now you may wish to adjust the shifter cable in the console. Otherwise take an allen wrench and loosen the retainer screw on the shifter and pull it off. Now remove the shroud to the console. With the console cover off you may be able to see the problem, but if everything stilll looks perfect and it still doesn't work replace the switch.

Wont start. ignition in start position, no starter, no fuel pump.
My suggestion is to have the battery actually load tested at a shop. Just because it outputs 12 volts means very little. Second step, turn your hey on-off-on-off-on quickly. Watch the odometer now, the digital display will show a series of three digit numbers. Write them down and consult the Haynes manual or online sources to find out what the fault codes mean.
Make sure your battery contacts are clean and tight. If the fault codes didn't indicate a problem, check your ignition switch, and to see if voltage is reaching the starter. Check all the connections and wires to the starter as well although with the fuel pump not running as well it sounds like it's something else.
Also yes look in the owners manual for the location of the fuel pump kill switch. Find it and reset the switch. As far as I know all modern cars have those accident reset switches now.
2001 entrepid automatic problem
It depends on what you mean by 'won't go into gear' what the problem is. If you mean it won't let you shift the selector there are several possibilities. If you mean you put it in drive and the car doesn't move you've got something wrong with your transmission.
First thing I'd suggest checking is the center console shift selector. Loosen the shift knob retaining screw with an allen wrench and slip it off. Then remove the shroud to the shifter or just lift it up enough to see what's inside. There is a small cable that prevents you from shifting the car in certain situations, such as when the car is off or moving down the road. The big cable is the shift cable. Make sure they're all in their proper positions and on their levers and none are damaged or broken.
If you want to you can remove the small cable and now try shifting the gears. I actually have driven the last hundred thousand miles in my car with that cable off. If you choose to leave it off though you'll have to be careful not to shift it when you shouldn't. There are a few electrical relays and controls that also control that cable, they should be checked too.
How much is a sensor
There are a lot of sensors on that engine, some of which could be the culprit. First thing to do is, with the car off, turn the key on-off-on-off-on and wait. Watch the odometer now, the digital display should now show a series of three digit codes. Write these down and look them up in a Haynes manual or online. These are fault condes, and all Dodge cars from the 80s to perhaps the present have that little easter egg. If however that doesn't bring up codes, try on-off-on-off-on-off-on and make sure you're turning the key all the way to the off position and all the way on, and remember you only have something like five seconds to complete the series.
