can't find where to reset the "change oil" message on 2005 ford explorer (eddie bauer)
Turn ignition on. Don't start the car. When the message shows up press setup. It will tell you to press reset to reset the oil life to 100 %.

The battery died in our 2005 Ford Explorer. When we replaced the battery, the AdvTrac light is always on in the instrument panel and "check AdvTrac" message beeps and shows up each time the car is started.
You will have to retrieve and clear codes from VDM module with a scan tool. You may also have to calibrate it as well.

PULLED TRIM OFF BEHIND RIGHT REAR DOOR - NO CODE? PART # B30789AE DE2NB, BUT NO 5 NUMBER CODE. ANY IDEAS ON WHERE TO LOOK FOR KEYLESS KEYPAD CODE ON 2008 FORD EXPLORER?
For the 2008 Ford Explorer ONLY (SUV). Look under the steering wheel. There is a black fuse box near emergency brake pedal. You will need a flashlight and a dental mirror (very tight space. Look between the lower lid of the box on the slim space to the left side. Take your time, you will see a bar code and 5 above it...That's it! I found mine that way. If you are laying on your back looking up, it's the gap above your right shoulder.GOOD LUCK!

Always after driving my car and after 5 minutes, there a message appears on the dash board "engine fail safe mode"
And I checked the coolant water and found it good
My car ford explorer 2005
I have hearing a lot of this lately with Fords. Most of the time this dash board light comes on due to problems with the Throttle Body (TB)not just your coolant,etc.. If it is sticking, dirty, causing misfires, etc. then this can cause an engine fail safe mode. You might first try putting in some injector cleaner and a higher grade of gas. Many people I know who have had this problem have had to have their TB cleaned and/or replaced. This is something Ford dealerships now about, but hasn't been made a recall or anything. There are service bulletins though.Mainly keeping cleaner in your gas and performing ritual tune-ups/oil changes may be the only thing you can do.Hope this helps

we have a 2005 ford explorer that has the spark plug wires connected to the distributor cap incorrectly. we just need the correct order to connect the plugs to the distributor cap
The 2005 Ford Explorer offered 2 engine choices: the 4.0 V-6 and the 4.6 V-8. The V-8 has coil packs. The V-6 has a distributor. The firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6. Clockwise rotation, When standing in the front of the vehicle the cylinders are numbered 1-3 up the passenger's side and 4-6 up the driver's side.

2005 FORD EXPLORER DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES 9318, 9352. battery, alternator and starter were checked. these codes show on my message center. car hesitates to start WHAT IS MY POSSSIBLE TROUBLE? car died when just cd player was on. Battery took a jump no problem, 2 days later the car hesitated to start but did. I know its going to continue to occur
This really sounds like a problem with your battery. I know you said you checked it, but is it really putting out the appropriate voltage (12.66 volts) and CCAs? Even draining the battery once can damage it (especially in cold weather), and cold weather reduces the CCAs a battery can put out. A weak battery can cause those codes. When the vehicle hesitates to start, does that typically happen on colder mornings or after the car sat for longer periods of time? I would double-check your battery. If it's the original, it's near its end of life anyway.

where is the signal flasher located on a 2005 ford explorer?
The relays are located in the reverse side of the passenger compartment fuse panel. As you look in the relay box the flasher relay in the top row, farthest one to the left. It kinda stands alone as it is in the first position. If I remember correctly it's the biggest relay you see in that box. I hope this helped and good luck.

how to fix po106 code 2005 ford explorer
Hi Trouble codes begin with a letter specifying the location of the problem. "P" stands for power train and encompasses most of the engine. Fuel vapors escape a vehicle, and enter the atmosphere, every time a car is driven down the road. Car manufacturers utilize an evaporative emission system, or EVAP, with a manifold absolute pressure/barometric, or MAP/BARO, pressure switch solenoid valve for control of fuel emissions. A MAP/BARO solenoid valve reacts to the commands of the MAP/BARO sensor, as dictated by the engine's on-board computer. Electrical current runs through the solenoid valve for opening and closing the component. Function The MAP/BARO sensor observes barometric air pressure and intake manifold pressure through the opening and closing of the MAP/BARO solenoid valve. The solenoid's switch between different air pressures gives the vehicle's EVAP system a chance to balance fresh intake air with the internal fuel vapors. Significance Without the differing air pressure observations, the EVAP system would have trouble quantifying the internal fuel vapor pressure. A poorly controlled emissions system would allow more fumes into the atmosphere, affecting the environment in a negative way. Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.
The code is for the baro switch. I would check all the connector for loose wire or contact. If not then you should replace the baro sensor. It is located on the manifold and can cause a hesitation.

how do I reset the fail sale engine mode?
This is the best answer I could find but it appears that your owners manual has the answer in it unless you are in the position this person is in after disconnecting battery. Good luck.
