Either its the incorrect battery for the vehicle, or you have a Parasatic load aka battery drain. Check shop manual for spec's on the battery. If battery is correct size charge it ,and then remove the negative battery cable from its post and connect an ammeter red probe to the negative battery post and the black probe to the negative battery cable. Now start pulling fuses until the voltage on the meter returns to normal. The fuse you pulled to get this result is the affected circuit. Now you have to probe it from its B+ source to the load
to find the short. Check all connectors for rust and the line for opens or shorting to ground. Repair accordingly.

INFO: Sounds like you may have blown a fuseable link. RECOMENDATION AND LOCATION: Check the fuse block located on the drivers side fenderwell, in this location you will find fuses and fusible links. This is a wire with which seems to have a thick insolation on it. To test you can pull the wire to see if it still hase a wire in it, if the link is blown there will be only insolation. . Check your fuses with a test light sounds as if a fuse blew.

Fuel pump runs for 2 seconds when key is turned on when the engine starts it continues to keep pressure at 30 PSI while engine is running, If you are going up hill the fuel regulator will kick in increasing fuel rail pressure to 60 PSI If the Fuel Pump does not detect the engine running by th cam shaft or crank shaft sensor the pump will not run. There is a fuel sock on the pump and a fuel filter as well. If it's not running most likely the Fuel Pump Is bad, The ethanol in the fuel eats the old pumps up and destroys the filter. So if you have not replaced the filter or the fuel sock then it's time to do so now. If you want more information let me know and I will give you more.

other than that check all your fuses, The fiesta clocks do sometimes break though - so it may be a broken tachometer, about £40 from ford, I think - been a long time since I bought any ford parts...

Look you really don't have any other choice but to get yourself a service manual. There is only so much you can do with out a reliable source of information at your finger tips. I certainly applaud your desire to satisfy the hot rodding bug but you need to do it correctly and safely. That means information.
The cost of a manual for you project car can't be more then $15 bucks and can probably be found for less. If it 's free your after then check out your local library. No joke. My local (small) library has a complete set of dealership grade service manuals for domestic autos and almost complete set of foreign autos. Although you can't take them out you can copy anything you need.

There is also another problem with your request. 91-92 escort came with either a 1.8L or 1.9L engine. So that's a lot of diagrams considering the sensors are going to be located among several wiring diagrams.

most likely on the front of the motor on the underside right behind the radiator and fans, usually located hter on front wheel drives, depends wich way the motor sits belts left or belts right

Gas or anitfreeze are both petrolium based prducts. Check for leaks on both. Antifreeze has a sweet smell and is either green or orange if using Dex Cool (look in resivoir to confirm color or if its low) to diffrentiate the 2.

check all fuel lines and injectors with the key on looking under the hood .if you smell gas you have a leak.

if you have a 1.8L DOHC you need to buy a tensioner spring.
but if you have a 1.9L SOHC you need to pry the tensioner close to the belt to release the slack.

sound like the mass air flow sensor ( maf ) or you throttle position sensor (tps) is the check engine light on? if so get it scanned at auto zone for free and it will most likely help to solve the problem quicker and more cost effective!
