My 83 Ford Bronco keeps cutting off at every stop. it puffs like it's fighting to stay on before it go's out please help.

Sounds like your Carb needs to be tuned. If that doesn't do it rebuild or Buy a new one. When I get in my Chevy First start of the day I press the gas pedal to the Floor 2 times and then hit the key to start it and it starts right up at a fast idle then you have to manually kick it down to a lower idle by putting it to the floor and letting off real fast kicking it to a normal running idle. It could benefit you to let it warm up a bit longer also. I have to give my chevy 5-10 minutes before I drive off in it.. Might try and run some fuel stabilizer through it. Stuff that will remove water and other things that will make your motor run worse (maybe run a better grade of fuel in it). When was the last time you replaced the Spark plugs? That could also benefit you. Just the general tune up things could make a world of difference. Also if it does this when the motor is fully warmed up you might turn up your idle as that could be a problem. Let me know what works for you.

STARTER WILL NOT DISENGAGE & KEEPS BURNING THE SELINOID SWITCH

it could be several things, here are some things to check. first make sure that the wire to the solenoid that engages the solenoid to crank the starter has no bare spots or shorted to any other wires in its bundle. second check how many amps the starter is drawing when cranking, if you dont have the tester advance or autozone will do this test for free. make note that a bad starter will draw too many amps. causing a solenoid to stick by the contacts welding together. make sure all grounds are tight. make sure the solenoid is not shorting to the fender well. check the volts and aps from the ignition sw. also make sure the battery is not too high of amps for the truck seen that before also. and lastly be very careful when conecting the battery and starter cables to the solenoid. you can damage the sw by overtightening the nuts. sometimes the solenoid will actually break. or crack if you get the nuts too tight. all you do is snug the nuts up so you cant turn the wires with your hand. breaking or cracking the solenoid will also cause them to fail. check these things and good luck james.

check for a crank shaft or camshaft failure. Also try by using a scanner if you can get any fault or if you use the scanner into live measurements to see the outcome readings into all the electrical and computerized controlled units of the car.

You may need to adjust the timing via the distributor. Usually when changing the cams in older engines some custom tweeking is needed. You also may need to slightly adjust the fuel pressure when changing the cam. Is this engine have a throttle body or a carburetor?

Every time my car comes to a red light it powers off.why?

EGR (exhaust gas recirculation),or TPS (throttle position sensor) When the vehicle makes a stop and go into idle. The RPM is basically too low to maintain the RPM, If the vehicle runs 800 RPM in park or neutral and doesnt stall the setting is correct. If it stall in neutral or park and has a hard time accelerating you will need a TPS, The EGR can stall a engine if it stays open underload approching a stop where it doesnt close properly

Spits and spuders then dies

Asumeing you didn't junp a tooth on your timeing chain witch you could check from the pisition of the rotor in relation to the # 1 spark plug wire on your distubotr cap at top dead center # 1 cylinder at the top of the compression stroke it should line up if thats OK. Then i would say rebuild your carburator its 30 or 40 dollars for the kit and detailed instructions are in clueded in the kit on the disassemble and adjustments and its not hard to do i have an 85 do it every 5 or 6 years makes lots of problems go away much better gas milage pays for it self in a couple of months. You will need a couple cans of cleaner with the little red tubes to spray out the passages but its a two hour project even if it takes four the vehicle will run so much better you won't belive it good luck

Bronco will not start. Battery will discharge.

Check the altenatr instead. A diode is in it and if faulty the alternator will not produce a charge. Of course the voltage regulator in it to can be bad also. Remove it and take it to an auto parts store that will test it for free. Many can do that just call around locally

How do i remove the brake hoses

If you don't know what you are doing, the best thing to do is let a garage do it for you. Brakes are very touchy. Don't fasten a line good and it leaks, there goes your brakes, and I bet those lines on an 83 are really on there tight. But if you are going to do it yourself anyway, break the brake line at the nut head and put a socket on the head and twist it out.
