88 ford f150 has fuel at the rail and spark won't start I tried using starting fluid and it ran for a few seconds then stopped makes a strange winding down noise like something is being forced in the

DID YOU CHECK FUEL AT THE RAIL WITH A GAUGE OR JUST PUSH THE NEEDLE VALVE AND HAVE FUEL THERE. IF YOU DIDN'T CHECK IT WITH A GAUGE YOU MORE THAN LIKELY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PRESSURE. BEING ITS A FORD YOU NEED TO CHECK THAT THE FUEL CUT OFF SWITCH DID NOT POP IF ITS OK THEN IT'S THE PUMP

Any repair manual for ford econoline van water pump 1988

UMMM, Ford never made a 350. That was chevy! As for the water pump. You don't repair them, you just replace them. This is a very easy motor to work on. And the pump is up front and in your face on that motor. Just take a good long look around. Even take some pics. Cuz you can these days. There are a few things that need to be addressed in the correct order. Both for removal and then installation. I haven't done that old a motor in years. But what I do remember is that if you just take a moment. It is not hard at all. If you get into trouble, let me know. I will go out to the shop and find one of my books. I can also ring a buddy that has one. He can put you on it for sure. But you should try yourself first. It's the only way to truly learn! Good luck, Jason

1988 FORD F150 NEW RADIATOR AND THERMOSTAT.

I'm guessing a new engine block is due.... at the temperatures you describe it is very possible that the water inside this cast-iron block is Still rock solid frozen. I just cannot fathom how come you have no antifreeze in that vehicle in the first place! antifreeze can be had for six bucks a gallon! if small bubbles come up in the radiator you might have already a cracked cylinder head and compression gases pushing through. One Last hope you can have is that you got an air pocket in the water cannot circulate. but if it was frozen and you cranked your probably ripped off the water pump rotor blades...

not correct the negative wire should be attached under the head of a mounting bolt for the starter the circuit is that the power goes into the positive terminal ( big terminal) through the solenoid when activated out the second big terminal through the fields and armature to ground the power to activate the solenoid is either from a power wire from the ignition switch to a small terminal on the solenoid through the windings to ground that activates the solenoid and closes a set of contacts in the solenoid to allow the power across the 2 big terminals
