2005 ford F250 6.0 litre turbo diesel won't start. replaced both. turns over, won't catch. I have fuel out of the fuel filter and to the front of the block. I'm deployed to Iraq with no book for troubleshooting.
I have check the fuel cut-off switch under the glove box. I have replaced the PCM on the fender and the ECM on the of the engine.
I also change the oil and filter because the CAT engine wont start if the engine has the wrong viscosity it has to do with the HEUI pump.
Same thing happened to my F350 6.0 L 2005. The dealer replaced the high pressure fuel pump on the engine. It is currently working, but one month later the EGR cooler got a leak and it was replaced by the dealer. The internet states these are very common problems with the Ford Deisel. The fix is NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN. I got taken, How do you feel.

F350 6.0 Powerstroke won't start...acts like dead battery; clicks and rattles and hums...but it won't jump start! I hooked my 04 Camry to the driver's side battery - no joy. Tried the other side, same result - nada. Tried hooking up my 03 Yukon to the driver's side battery...no luck. Hooked the Yukon up to the other battery, no start...same whirr and rattle, but the starter is just not turning over. I bought this truck from Mills Ford in Anaheim, CA on 12/18 and put 462 miles on it...let it sit in my driveway over the Christmas holiday and tried to start it (10 days later) and all I get is this...I'm not a very happy camper, considering what I paid for the truck (which appears to be in otherwise immaculate condition).
If you have a battery charger, throw them on charge overnight. No more than a 3amp trickle charge. If you can charge one battery, and you can jump the truck by hooking the other battery to jumper cables, then you have identified the problem as low/dead batteries.
And yes, PSD's make a lot of noise on start up. A difference you will notice between the cumming and the psd engine at startup is that the psd cranks longer. This is due to the fact that the fuel injectors on the psd are actuated by oil pressure. Welcome to the world of powerstrokes.

i keep getting tbc fault and trailer disconnected message. this occurs with or without trailer
check the rear plug on the bumper they are prone to water damage and corrosion, if you unplug the 7-way and four way plug from the body connector and test drive the vehicle this will tell you if the plug is the source of the problem.

why does my ford f350 6.0 diesel start then shuts off and wont stay running.
I have a chevy c3500 with a 6.5 turbo diesel, the times that it has happened
to me was because of a dirty fuel filter or water, most diesel have a bleed off
valve to dissipate any accesss water in the fuel line, on my truck is located
on the right front side of the engine . you bleed it off when the engine is
turned off. good luck

My back up sensors quite working and the off button on the dash is on when you put it in reverse. I can press the button and turn it back on (light off) but once I shift into reverse again it beeps once and goes back off.
Can you help me troubleshoot this issue? Can I ohm the sensors and/or the switch to find out was is bad?
Ford want $114 to tell me whats wrong...
Thanks in advance,
Chris
I would buy a Chilton Repair Manual from a local parts store and a digital ohm meter. If the chilton doesn't have the ohms for all the sensors then research online for the specs on the sensor. It sound like a wiring issue or relay.

2005 Ford F350 SuperDuty 6.0 litre Diesel. Truck was very sluggish to accelerate and little or no boost showing on turbo pressure gauge. Next morning, it started fine, but when put in gear would quit and only run for about 5 seconds when re-started. The coolant level was low and over 4 litres was added to bring up. I started it again this evening and it runs fine in neutral, but appears to be blowing a lot of white smoke. I didn't try driving it yet as I don't want it to stall in the middle of the road. It is not leaking any fluid on to the ground and the engine oil level is OK (no coolant in the oil). Could the problems be related to the turbo or are there other things going on? Thanks. Gordon.
well the question is where did the coolant go. if it didnt leak out it must have went out the pipe. As you stated, white smoke, white smoke is coolant. You definately need to get this to the shop. You cannot drive it this way or further damage will occur.

Have a 05 ford f350 super duty 6.0 diesel that i shut off at drive thru and it would not restart. It turns over. checked all fuses and fluids and everthing seems ok
dies the truck restart once it cools off? it is very common for th 6.0 to have high pressure oil issues on a hot soak. they will run till the cows come home but once shut off they can not build up enough pressure by cranking speed alone to start truck until it cools down and the seals become rigid enough to bridge the gaps they are sealing in the first please. if this is the case. it may be the STC fitting ojn the back of the high pressure oil pump (intake and turbos must be removed to check) or possibly the branch tube o rings have worn. the branch tubes are located under the valve covers and supply the fuel injectors the oil they need to perform their "power stroke"...
