Heater will not blow hot air

The water inlet valve may not be letting water in, the heater core and hoses may be plugged or the engine thermostat may be stuck open. These are the things to check under the hood. The mix door may be letting cold air inside to mix with hot air from the heater.

What causes my van to keep stalling

Have you changed the fuel filter? Possibly restricted. Check engine light on? Scan for codes that may pertain to this issue. Possible throttle position sensor or throttle actuator.

Overheats could this be from to much coolent rushed the radiator and refilled just Wonder if added to much coolent

If you have emptied the cooling system and refilled it, you need to bleed air out of the system using the correct procedure for your engine. If you did not bleed air out after refilling, you will have air trapped in the cooling system and it will not function properly. You will most likely get an overheating condition.

My electric system is shorting out you can be driving and everything just goes out please help.

you might want to have your local ford dealer have a look at this one , seems that ford had a recall on this problem a while back ( I don't know if its still valid) as they admitted that the fuse block connector on the firewall (just above the steering wheel shaft) has a defect in the gasket that seals out water from getting in there and corroding things up , I only remember this as about five years ago I had one come thru here for this same complaint and it was repaired under a recall warranty by ford

Why wont my radiater hold water and why is my catalatic converter getting red hot?

You may have a small leak in your water pump and it only leaks when you drive. Or god forbid a cracked block and the water is mixing with your oil (see white smoke coming from tailpipe?)

3.8l. Where is crankshaft position sensor located?

Here is a drawing and description of the location: 25974439-55j43zfoeuhdrtvntybmbhee-3-0.gif he CKP sensor, located on the engine front cover near the crankshaft pulley, is used to determine crankshaft position and crankshaft rpm. The sensor is a magnetic reluctance type which senses the passing of teeth on a tone wheel because the teeth disrupt the magnetic field of the sensor. This disruption creates a voltage fluctuation, which is monitored by the PCM.

My 2003 Winstar LX diagnostic panel will not read. Cigarette lighter went out, then engine light came on, took for oil change, dealership could not read code and had not time to look further into it.

The DLC power is from the cigarette lighter fuse. Replace the fuse and take it to a parts store and they will get the codes for free. Don't buy parts until it is tested.

What problems do the 2003 Ford Windstars have?

transmission failure is the most common issue with the 03 windstar. The average miles is 210,000 so if you are looking to purchase one suggest avoiding anything over 150k is this is a very costly repair around $2,500. My cousin had an 01 that she purchased in 2012, it was beautiful inside and out, unfortunately when the head gasket failed she couldnt find a repair shop in our area willing to do the work, you may want to make sure you have a shop in your area willing to work on the vehicle, No sense in buying something you cant get fixed if it breaks down.

Why is the positive battery cable getting hot when running and shut the vehicle down?

This is usually down to a high resistance in the +/-cables or bad connections on the battery. Also check the alternator connection and output.
