In a '99 Ranger the purge valve is not anywhere in the engine compartment. Not there. SO, I guess it is above the spare tire...<sigh>..will post when I find it in my 1999 Ranger XLT 3.0L flexfuel. Seems the '99 location is unique

Brake light fuses should be under the dash on the drivers left side. If fuse is not the problem, there's a switch on the brake pedal arm, that controls the brake lights. The switch may need to be adjusted or replaced. Hope this helps.

Check for a vacuum leak. Check the heater control valve first and see if it's unplugged. Then check for melted vacuum hoses near the right side of engine.

To reset the anti-theft system, follow these steps: 1. You have a little red light on your dashboard-press it to disarm the alarm 2. Try turning the key and moving the shift from park to drive and back, then try starting it again 3. Disconnect the battery and let it breathe for 20 minutes and more, and reconnect it, that may do the trick 4. If all else fails, you may need to go down to the dealership to reprogram the key

Your fan motor has either burned out or there is a short in the wiring. Check for voltage at the fan motor plug under the dashboard. If you have power there then the motor is bad, replace the motor and you should be good to go.

sounds like the linkage from the ignition lock cylinder to the ignition switch is broken.

Rock it back and forth with pressure in either direction on gear selector. Manual or auto can have a safety switch after 1991. If sensor fails to detect park or neutral, no start.

You have to turn and push at the same time it will seat in then. When it goes in once keep turning and pushing to make sure it is all the way back.

Sounds a lot like it's been under water. I found unplugging things 1 at a time and reconnecting shaves the corrosion off. Check the Earth wire as well. Door sensor sounds like it's slightly out of alignment.

Check battery crank power.

You may be hearing the pressure regulator that is relieving the pressure on the rail and returning it to the tank.
