1st step is to check if the directional switch pointd down towards you-2nd step is to check yor fuse is not blown out-3rd step check your blower motor underneath the passenger side of glove box

I would take the vehicle to the dealer or an engine technician who can perform an engine analysis on the vehicle for about $80 or so.

Changing parts may not lead to a solution, in this case.

Intermittent problems like this need to be followed by someone with a scanner for that year.
Unfortunately, the OBD-II system wasn't put on cars and light trucks until 1996 model year.

This 1995 ranger uses an older diagnostic system which the technician will have to be familiar with and have equipment to work on your vehicle.

Find a 1993 thur 1997 ranger with single seat .drill mounting holes center floor thread hole. then install extra belts

On the ford ranger wiper motor not working, this is how u fix it. I am a licenced autobody mechanic for mercedes and my son bought a ford ranger and of course the wipers were not working-neither did the dome light and door chime.I told my son too replace all fuses ,switch and motor. And still nothing.Remove radio there is a pcm in behind- ours was unpluged. When we plugged it in the door bell would not shut off and the dome light stayed on. In stead of unplugging the pcm remove the light if wd40 does not work on the door latches. And to stop the door bell ringing remove the plastic cover around the ignition and their is a single wire with a blue connector just remove the wire it is the wire closest to the key and tape up the end and problem solved guarenteed . my email is [email protected] I will walk u through it .

I have the same problem as u . and all the ford socalled mechanics can figure it out. I have basically bought every part new and no results. sell the truck. can we swap out these mechanics .........

Door ajar beep. Mine started doing it every other minute today. Try slamming all the doors and if that doesn't work, google "1995 ford ranger beeping" for a post on how to modify that sensor.

HAVE YOU CHECK THE SIGNAL TO THE STARTER.

First thing you'll need to do is do a compression check. If that cylinder is OK mechanically, then you'll either have a problem with an injector or spark. Pull that plug wire off and put a spare spark plug into that wire while it is laying on a metal part of the engine. Start the engine, if that plug is sparking while the engine is running and you know you have a good plug in that cylinder, then you may have a problem with the injector or the wiring to it. If you can get the connector to that injector off, and wire a small 6 volt flashlight bulb to it's socket, and it flashes while the engine is running, then you know you have power to the injector. If all the previous tests have proved alright up to this point, then you likely have a bad injector.

pull connector from switch and use a paper clip or other piece of wire to connect the 2 terminals in the connector. Be careful not ot start the car in gear with the clutch out! Any more questions, let us know.

When did you last change the fuel filter ???

one of the door switches that actuate the dome light is probably shorted. check all door switches. Open doors one at a time and mess with the switch to see if the light will go out. If the light normally has a delay before it goes out, look for the relay that does that function and replace it.

you need a special tool to disconnect the hydraulic line from the slave cylinder, you should be able to pick one up at your parts store.

you can get a diagram from your local ford parts man if you ask them nice they will fax it to you if you have a fax mechine. or you can get it from most city library , you will need to copy it from the refenc. books bring plenty of change. or Autozone

On passenger side, inside of cab there is a fuel inertia switch mounted on the firewall by where feet go. There is a button underneath, push it. This will reset switch. Truck should get fuel now and start. These switches get weak and if passenger kicks it truck will shut down. Will still turn over but not start.

I think that the problem is still a vacuum leak. I know that you checked already, but P1506is either caused by a faulty IAC valve/solenoid, or by a vacuum leak.
The vacuum leak will **** air into the vacuum hose, mixing more air with the mixture regulated also by the IAC. This will be detected as IAC malfunction.
Small vacuum leaks cannot be spotted just observing, the vacuum is tested using an hand gauge in between the lines while heating or sprying with lube the vacuum hoses.

Good Evening, I know it can be disheartening to start trying to find a problem especially in your car but you are on the right track. It sounds like your fuel pump, or the inertia switch is not allowing the pump to come on. In your owners manual it will show you the location of your fuel pump switch, just be sure the button is pushed down. Secondly if you are not getting any fuel to the rail try spraying a little starting fluid (just a little) and see if it starts. If it starts I would say you troubleshot it just fine and agree that your fuel pump just is not working. Hope this helps.

you already have two solutions where you posted this before...as an afterthought to my original solution, I also suggest checking pump bolts to make sure they are all tight (don't go overboard with this and snap any, just make sure that they are not easily turned.)
