What conecting wires go where to the starter

If your vehicle has a starter solenoid out by the battery and fender well, then I have provided an image that will assist you and it will connect like so;

1. Connection 1 should have the Pos. (+) battery cable and all of the wires with the large eyelet connectors from the wiring harness connected to it, except for the large cable that runs down to the starter.

2. Connection 2 should only have the large cable going down to the starter connected to it, and there should be no other wire connected there.

3. Connection 3 is the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid, and it is the wire with the small push on connector that is hot only when the key is in the "start" position, usually it is a red wire with a blue stripe, but that is not always the case.

4. Connection 4 is the "I" connection on the starter solenoid and it feeds current back into the ignition, and it is not used on a lot of vehicles after 1981, but if your vehicle has it it will be a small push on connector that will not have any power from it at all, and it will usually be a black wire with a white stripe, but that is not always so.

If the starter in your vehicle has the solenoid mounted on the starter then it will connect in a similar way, and the Pos. (+) battery cable along with all of the wires that have the large eyelet connectors on them will be connected together on the upper large terminal on the starter solenoid, and the wire with the smaller eyelet connector on it will be connected to the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid, and the "I" terminal if it even has one should not be used.

My ford taurus is acting

fuel pressure should be 40 psi.

But, if you have a MAF sensor on your air intake after the air filter box, clean the exposed wires inside, with spray carb cleaner or MAF sensor cleaner. It will fix a lean condition.

report back.

98 taurus will not stay running when warm warm

It's caused by a lack of spark which can be either the ECU's fault (on EFI cars), or the coil on pretty much any car. Heat causes expansion inside the coils, and over heats. So when vehicle warms up, it gets hot. God-Bless! also check the wiring good to the crankshaft sensor.

Why would a 1988 ford taurus horn blow constantly in the middle of the night

There is a horn relay. If the relay fails it can complete the power circuit to the horn regardless of any input from the steering wheel horn buttons. Only way to remedy the situation is to disconnect the battery and replace the horn relay.

What fuse is for turn signals is 6 and is it 20amp

"What fuse is for turn signals is 6 ..." Have no idea ...not even sure what you're asking here. Look on the fuse map that's on the back of the fuse panel cover. It will have location and the appropriate amperage rating. There is also a fuse panel inside the engine compartment. Usually this fuse panel will have high draw components and typically these fuses are 10 amp or more.

TURN SIGNALS

Hi Did you check the fuses for the turn lights? Do the parking lights work? If the parking lights work then you probably have a problem either in the switch or in turn signal module thing. The burned out bulb is what might be causing it not to blink... if one bulb is burned out you gotta replace it, make no difference if front or back, the left blinker will not work if the left front or rear bulb is bad. same with the right side. if the front right or rear right turn signal light is burned out it will not work.....get replacing the bulbs.Hope this solves your problem. Please rate me if my solution helped you. Your local junk yard should have one. if it isnt under the hood, look inside and in the trunk. when they disassemble the engine to sell it, they put the parts inside so that all of the parts stay in one place.

Wont start

You need to check three things if your car wont start.check the fuel make sure your getting fuel to your engine. If so check to see if you have spark u can do that by taking a spark plug wire off the plug and put a screw driver in it have someone crank your engine and tap the metal part of screwdriver to metal if it sparks your good.the last is compression u need a compression tester to check that.
