AS '85 TELSTAR TX5 TURBO - POSSIBLE AIRFLOW METRE PROBLEM
Have you tried replacing the Throttle Position Sensor? It's more than likely that the TPS is faulty than the air flow meter. The TPS has small strips that ride under a claw, which is where the sensor gets its signal. Give that a try.

Servicing as you call it has nothing to do with diagnosingor finding & solving problems that happen every year or soThose several parts you indicate where replaced, I assumewere done at a repair shopIn any case,my opinion based on the actual parts replacedtells me little if any testing for component failure was done,as the parts replacement & continuing problem bare outAgain oil changes & such & mileage have nothing to do withactually road testing a vehicle with the owner along ,as you shouldalway do,and having a scan tool along to look at & record yourmisfire dataLong story shortYou have to start overNothing has been found or accomplished so farMaybe a different repair shop !!People at home, as well as repair shops, see a sensorcode & throw parts at it,when the sensor is just doingit's job & reporting an out of range conditionOnly the most knowledgeable folks & also having factorytrouble charts to learn from & follow will find & resolve thingsIf one coil was replaced based on obd codes, then maybe adifferent coil is the bad oneI have seen when my professional scan tool software didnot help & codes were all over the place, on fordsI have had to walk a new coil from cyl to cyl to find the bad one

Is what they refer to as an ignitor a coil module
The igition module is also refered to as the igniter. The module is the control unite that takes the information as to the location of the crankshaft to timing assembly. It synchronizes the two and tells the distributor when to fire the pulse to the spark plugs. These units are prone to failure and need to be isnstalled with lots of dielectric grease (between the module and the mounting location) which acts as a heat sink. Hope this helps.
